Are you ejected from the club when you no longer own your McLaren? scratchchin
Yes. They invite you to a fake meet, and when you don't turn up in McLaren they strip you, then tar and feather you.

Nice bunch of people in there and have personally learnt a lot about the cars. Most of us will stick £50 petrol in our cars by the weekend yet to learn lots about the car and make good friends is not worth it?? Cant see the logic.

Indeed. I'm not a Mac owner but these clubs are often worth their weight in tips, knowledge and help.

£50 is a bargain to know you're receiving insight from real owners instead of unknowns/people with a grudge/keyboard warriors.

Well worth it hadn't considered having my car serviced at the New Forest dealership as I'm in North London Hatfield was the logical / convenient choice but following a recommendation on the MOC I booked in with New Forest who collected and delivered the car and were nearly £200 cheaper than Hatfield and Ascot.

It’s a nice thing to be part of, and the value I’ve had just in terms of advice is well worth the money.

I do feel quite poor on there, “only” having a used 650s, but no-one’s ever been critical, it’s just that seeing people buying a Senna to park next to their customised 720s is a little sobering.

I’m with you on the 650. Considering where I was born, and with activist offspring running my NGO, I can’t justify going to another supercar (though I did sneak in an Atom). And that’s also why I’ve avoided the owners group - a bit too much conspicuous consumption for me. Though probably most there are more like you and me.

500 members paying £50 a year is £25,000.

What costs are incurred to warrant that annual charge to members?

The discounts are only the same as what any group with numbers could receive if they approached a Dealership or Race Circuit.

How much does it cost to organise 13 people to drive to a castle?
Don’t join then. I have, and think it’s worth it.

I think so. No-one’s flaunting it at all, but it’s natural I suppose that is owners of an “entry level” used car are at the lower end.

It’s quite a contrast to how McLaren owners probably normally feel…

Its an interesting one I personally haven't joined the owners club ( more due to personal time constraints with young family etc) although I'm in a smaller whatsapp group with a few other owners reasonably local to me which has resulted in excellent chat and some memorable early morning drives. Yes there's quite a difference between buying a used 570s for 90k ( in my case!) and speccing a new Senna for high 6 figures! Although as far as the general public is concerned my humble 570 might as well be a P1! Having a McLaren has been a great experience it seems nuts that the entry price is now only a bit more than a new M4...

I really like the MOC. I've never actually been to an event yet, but even just for the owners forum on the Facebook page I feel it's worth it.

Same here, although I also haven't actually got my car yet!
I also think that the fact the club directly liaises with McLaren on a regular basis is another good reason to join as the more members they represent the more "clout" they may have.

Is this the Owners club website:

https://www.mclarenowners.org.uk/

Or this:

https://membermojo.co.uk/mclarenowners

One says memebership suspended until further notice, one doesn't

Confused....

Thanks

It is the first one. I don't know why it says new memberships are suspended though. I'll ask on MOC.......

ETA - they both look like they are for the same owners club, so that is a tad odd. I've asked on MOC anyway and will update when I get an answer.
