This video shows the covers under a 12C, I believe it's the same on the 650/675

The vid is from Thorney, who offer their own warranty programme which is cheaper than the official McLaren one.
Thanks that was super helpful thank you. He sounds like a great chap - sounds like he does geometry too - will give him a call . Thanks smile

Can someone tell me a little more about Thorney - are the the go to McLaren Indy for servicing / care / Maintainance ? Are they any good - he sounded brilliant as I say ?

Hi David thanks - no lift does work on the move if accessed from the menu and also from the stick I believe - I think you have to sprinkle it with angels tears to get it to work off the stick or you have to not be a complete and utter plonka like me smile
Hold the stalk up until you hear the “bong” then raise the stalk up a second time. You’ll then hear a slightly different “bong” and the vehicle will start to rise. Same process to lower but the stalk is pulled down on the second step.

No sorry haven’t used them and don’t had a Mac, I just take an unhealthy interest!
Litchfield have a solid reputation on everything else they do.

There are only two other 675LT coupes on sale on PH/AT, with 200 and 1500 miles respectively at £230k each, whereas the above car is just over 10k miles. So there aren't any other high-mile coupes to compare it to; and generally spiders are higher valued than coupes as the carbon tub doesn't give up any stiffness, and they're a year newer. So perhaps being priced a bit lower than similar-mileage spiders is about right?

White with no exterior carbon is not the most desirable spec, clubsport pack suggests its been tracked as well

Quick technical question - obviously the car is a carbon tub. But I wonder if the bottom of the tub is open to the ground beneath it or is there a cover hosing protecting the bottom of the carbon tub from grounding out - I only ask as it’s such a low car I can’t see how without a cover, the tub wouldn’t get ruined ?

Also are there any good videos that show you how to work the Sat Nav, work the lift , etc - general walk around of the features.

Re lift from the stalk - is it just two quick pushes upwards or do you have to press the little button on the end of the stalk first - can’t seem to do it.

Oh tyres - can anyone give me an idiots guide to the varying types.

& lastly - warranty - been quoted £5,400 I think + £240 for check up - 12 months (waive £240 if done with service) that’s bloody expensive - any other warranty products none McLaren that are as good / better value.

Charging - I assume charge up whenever you aren’t using it - 24/7 ?

Last one - on a Spider the engine lid is very open and then there is open mesh above the titanium exhausts. When cleaning I assume water just falls through the engine lid air vents and engine lid mesh and it’s fine as it drains through - or does one have to be really careful not to get excess water into the engine housing.

Assume any water that does get in there should be dried off the carbon engine housing or the heat of the engine will evaporate the water causing water ring staining to form ?

Thanks all smile

As above, no exterior carbon, the carbon is very expensive and can make a big difference to prices. Also I hear the owner of this particular car needs a quick sale for a business venture so has priced accordingly to sell fast, probably £20k below its market value. Its a great car with a known owner and known history so would be an excellent buy, especially in clubsport spec. Mine is clubsport pro and I have never tracked it so not sure clubsport means its tracked and these cars are made to track so even if it has its not a problem.

Its definitely a good buy at that price regardless of the spec and I agree it should be a £200k car as it stands.

If it appeals as a car anyway the saving is a bonus and should stand you well later at resale so bag yourself a bargain

Absolutely car has no problem handling it but they can pick up a few more marks on a track than routine road driving.
I've seen many a peppered windscreen, front bumpers and lower side sills from cars heavily tracked

AB now also has a much higher specified 675LT for sale. So it is apparent the difference spec can make.

https://www.alastairbols.com/cars/mclaren-675lt-cl...

This one has carbon roof, louvred wings, carbon exterior packs and is clubsport. That's a lot of extras, possibly £40k+ when new for just £20k more now, both cars great value for money.

There is no indication the white car has been tracked, there is also no way AB would sell a car in the condition you describe, he is absolutely fastidious and a stickler for detail and reputation. Even if a 675LT needed a £5k front end respray on a £180k+ car is not the same issue as a £5k front end respray on a £5K track car. So a bit of gravel rash not really a problem but you are highly unlikely to see a specialist or main dealer sell a £180k car that isn't presented and prepped100% perfectly.

That is a bargain. No carbon but still well under where it should be priced, and according to the MOC guys, very well looked after. Also has the Clubsport package, that is a fantastic buy for someone.

If I'd not just picked up a 720, I would be purchasing that. Couldn't find one for under £200k when I was looking, and it is unlikely to lose money. The pinnacle of McLaren road cars IMO.

That's stunning and well worth the extra IMHO. A hell of a lot of car for the money
