Which is the most "fun" McLaren to drive?
Discussion
Congratulations CTE, that's a very nice car and has wing vents and the CF around the rear window which was an expensive option. My friend owns the other spider AB has for sale and that's a cracking car too.
I see it has Trofeo's on, do get them changed for winter to the MPS4S so you can enjoy the car properly, around £900 for a full set, I got mine from Bell & Colvill.
Where are you based? We often has 675LT mini meets as there are a few owners local to me in and around SE area. PM me and will send you details.

By co-incidence Thorney Motorsport just posted a comparison of all the models a few days back, which at least partially answers the original question.

This was posted earlier in the thread and I think was a balanced view on what is the best Mac overall, rather than the most fun.https://youtu.be/8v3prGxB-10
I tend to agree on their results as the 720s is a far more advanced car as you would expect being the newest, with a better engine, monocoque 2, faster and uprated components, however the 675LT while an older design is more fun because it is more track focussed but compromised on road in comparison to the 720.

I had a day full of places i needed to be yesterday, and although the weather was just terrible and it was about 60 / 40 b roads and motorway, I still decided to take my LT.I see it has Trofeo's on, do get them changed for winter to the MPS4S so you can enjoy the car properly, around £900 for a full set, I got mine from Bell & Colvill.

Even with biblical rain it is just soo sure footed; almost like its 4 wheel drive.
One location I had to go to was in the middle of nowhere and actually had to use lift due to half mile 'track' to a friends house.
It was an absolute joy for all 250 or so miles, and when I turned up to the last place I had to be on my list which was a McLaren event, it actually looked like a WRC car!
So yesterday, as per topic, I had great fun in my McLaren; I would never of considered using any of my previously owned Ferraris for that journey.
Only downer was, that for once, I could not put the roof down at any point of the day.
CTE; you are going to love it.
My advice; use it for as many journeys as you can regardless of the weather.
It's better than any anti-depressant out there!

had a similar day yesterday - but in a lowly 650s... and couldn't agree more!Even with biblical rain it is just soo sure footed; almost like its 4 wheel drive.

300 miles, mixture of motorway, b-roads, narrow Norfolk lanes with grass growing in the middle, ... damp, rain, leaves, mud.... Car was fantastic throughout! I don't think many supercars would have been as much fun in such conditions. The only time I don't use the 650, is when I need more luggage space than the frunk offers!!
Paul (BISPAL)...sorry I`m being a bit dim but I cannot find the link to PM you?
I live in Norfolk but regularly visit your part of the world as I have several petrolheads mates there...Forest Row is my main port of call these days.
Totally agree about the tyres...but not just for winter.

Well errrm I`ve just decided to buy a 675LT spider...stunning car...but to be fair they all are. Thanks for all your inputs. I thought I had decided to go for a 600LT spider but to me in the flesh the 675 is top drawer. I think the general opinion is that the 675 long term will have the better residuals, but in my mind you don`t buy cars for that reason, but if it works out well then great...I see interest rates rising at some point and that will set the cat amongst the pigeons, but then that`s probably why they haven`t been raised yet??
I was asked about the Komotec 475 upgrade. Yes a really noticeable improvement in performance and efficiency, although potentially not in gearbox life if abused. The main downside is when you come to trade in, Lotus dealers won`t touch it and ultimately you won`t see any return on your investment, but generally it takes the straight line performance up to junior McLaren levels in a lighter more track focused car.
Congratulations CTE. I have a 720S and drive it as often as I can. Ditched the Pirellis and gone for PS4's. Takes a bit of time to get heat into them but so much better. I live in Norfolk too so have the country lanes, tractors and the roads that are constantly damp and grimey. Life is too short to leave it stuck in a garage for 6 months of the year. Only downside is the funny looks when you get out and the doors wee themselves all over the floor after a drive in the rain..... I was asked about the Komotec 475 upgrade. KevF pretty sure you don`t live too far from me...not that I`m stalking you or anything but...seen your or a car just like yours on the B111.
Think you were looking for some storage space a year or two ago?
Signed in and tried to PM but still no links?
I found the link and emailed you. If you go to a members profile by clicking on their name, on the grey line near the top, on the right side in blue it should say 'email me' and click that. Think you were looking for some storage space a year or two ago?

Glad you use it how McLaren intended...all of the time!
