McLaren gave an update a few days ago
https://investors.mclaren.com/investors/group-news...

McLaren Group update - Semi-conductor shortage said:
With our supply now affected, we have chosen to reschedule vehicle build timings.

As previously noted, delays in McLaren Artura software validation due to the pandemic and the worldwide semi-conductor shortage that is impacting carmakers have affected our original launch timings.

We anticipate the first McLaren Artura customer vehicles to be shipped in Q2 2022 given these shortages. We are unable to confirm specific volumes or timings at this point while the supply of semi-conductors remains uncertain, we continue to monitor this situation.
So it's been delayed until probably June, more or less.
The other thing is that if McLaren only have a limited number of chips available, they'll probably choose to use them to build higher-margin cars rather than the Artura. So deliveries may be delayed or very limited, depending on semiconductor supplies.

However given McLaren have spent all the money developing the Artura and putting it into production - they've even built quite a few cars, just awaiting the software - plus the fact that it has an up-to-date hybrid drivetrain, the probability of them killing the model is basically zero. So unless McLaren go bust first, the Artura will eventually arrive.

What a very inaccurate and provocative headline.

I was at a McLaren event yesterday and they had a fully functioning pre production one there; it is a stunning car and finished beautifully inside.

I was a bit unconvinced with the press pics but in the flesh it is so pretty from every angle; I too cannot wait to get into the demo when it arrives.

I was also told it shall be at the end of 1st quarter at the earliest before any come through; the chip issue has seen to that, but at least it gives a little more development time to ensure when it comes out the launch niggles shall be hopefully ironed out.

I was also told that the ordered cars they were expecting in before the end of the year are now delayed to spring summer also.

Bad news if you want a new car, but great news for current owner residuals; they bought in a 570 coupe this week for stock paying the owner £10k more than he paid 14 months ago from them.

I love everything about the new Artura especially the 5yr warranty and am considering buying one which will be my first McLaren. Always loved McLaren as cars and as a long term Porsche and Ferrari owner really wanted one. The Artura appeals at all levels with none of the silly games needed to get a GT Porsche.

Andrew's question is surely answered by the continued advertising on the F1 car's wing today for the Artura

We also saw the Artura in the flesh and was speaking to someone who has been in one and said it was an amazing ride. So are they delayed yes, I would say we’ll see delivery of orders Q4 next year due to all the chip shortages.

Mods should change the title to Artura Delayed.

Right now it’s clickbait by the OP.

Exterior looks really nice. That interior - esp the instrument binnacle and the iPad with a knob - is not for me

Have just seen an Artura on the road in Oxfordshire.
Don’t look as wide as I thought it would but it was very nice.

Saw it and was impressed in the flesh but my only gripe is again with interior is where the dash meets the door, it doesn't flow like previous interiors like 12c/650/540/570 where they are a part of each other. A bit 'Ferrari' iyswim where they don't 'flow'.

I believe that's what they did, they contracted someone (Parrot?) to make them a custom Android build. Which then took longer than estimated and the first version shipped had very poor usability, like all software projects...
