This is exactly what it is. I have it on my GT and I don't think I'd be without it. Getting in/out of the 720S (which had manual seats) without it was a right PITA.

Comfort Entry is something both electric seats and electric steering column can be set to do if you have them. Seats slide back as stated, steering column lifts to the highest position and retracts, also to give a bit more space.

It surprised me on a test drive, I parked the car on an incline, opened the door to get out and I felt like the car was rolling backwards down the hill! But it was just the seat motoring backwards.

I have both on mine... and leave it turned off, I don't find it too bad getting out as long as I can get the doors fully open.

The lower spec blue car has the electric seats (as pretty much all GTs do) but doesn't claim the electric column too.

I wouldn't assume that everyone prefers blue to grey, I would but I think some ppl prefer the grey, so it may not have been spec over colour / mileage, may have been personal preference on the colour.

Personally if a car's in great condition I wouldn't hold much preference for 4k miles over 14k miles.

That's what I thought - it was described in the spec "Power Adjust Steering Column with Comfort Entry-Exit", which made me think it was just the steering column that moved. Surely anything with memory seats can do the same at the touch of a button.

McLaren electric seats can be set to motor back when you get in and out.
McLaren electric steering columns can be set to motor in and up when you get in and out.
Each of these (separate) functions are described as "Comfort Entry-Exit"

AFAIK a car can have either or both electric seats and/or column, and each will have the entry/exit functionality independently of the other.

Of the cars discussed, both advertise electric seats so would have the seat moving option. Only the grey car advertises electric steering column too, but if interested in the blue car and if you cared, it would be worth checking as they might not have mentioned it.

The comfort entry exit is all good until the seat module fails and the seat is stuck in the fully back position...ask me how I know this?! P1 buckets don't carry this risk!

Is it safe to assume that any Sports Series car with Lux Pack would have the full comfort entry/exit option?

I noticed that a lot of the Sports Series cars don't have the Luxury pack optioned and on seeing the option price new at circa £7k so it was a fair bit of money. In contrast seems like the Security pack is optioned on nearly all the cars.

Comfort Entry/Exit can be turned off if you don't want it or don't want to risk it getting stuck.

In the 570S brochure PDF I have, Luxury Pack is defined as including both electric heated seats and the electric steering column, so yes Lux Pack = both electric and therefore 'full' comfort entry/exit. In the GT brochure there is no luxury pack, but the electric steering column is in the GT Upgrade pack along with the 12 speaker audio. The electric seats were standard equipment on the GT by the end of the run, not sure about earlier on (specs changed for 2018 at least).

However all the options are also listed separately as well as in packs, so you can't assume that a car with one element of a given pack necessarily has all of them, although I think most buyers bought packs rather than individual options by and large.


When making decisions on this I'd strongly suggest trying to view and sit in a few cars, even if they aren't ones you want to buy. Seating is very personal, the electric seats are a lot higher than the manual adjust ones which may or may not work for you, and that's before you start considering the various bucket options.

Rang up about the Orange 570s at McBrum. Sounds nice, lots of carbon on it and low miles but the big 6 year service is due in November.

Does anyone know how much this has cost them recently?

It looks a very nice car. I understand the 6th year service is around £2.5k at a McDealer, but I am sure others can confirm.

That car has an excellent exterior spec assuming you like carbon, but worth noting incase it is important to you that it doesn't seem to have any of the internal luxuries so has manual seats, manual steering column, basic 4 speaker stereo, no heated seats etc.

From posts I've seen, I think that is the big one - can't remember why.

It's curious that people sometimes comment that sports series are cheaper to run than super series. For warranty costs, that is true - but the super series (at least 12C / 650) - doesn't have that massive jump in service cost at 6 years. While I owned mine, I had 5th, 6th and 7th year services and they were all much the same (~£1,100).

Had missed that tbh. What are peoples opinions on that one vs the track pack one at AB.?

Have an Exige atm so the carbon buckets I can live with.

Track pack, the p1 seats are just so comfortable, plus the other few bits the track pack benefits from.

Track pack for me also, P1 seats will make the car feel extra special every time you sit in it, Grandad seats just don’t do it !!

It's a tough call as the track pack car has nearly 14k more miles than the car you posted. Not sure how McLaren resale is impacted by miles, probably not as sensitive as say Ferrari but my guess is that the miles would still be a factor to consider. There is a similar post about a 720S on another thread which has similar miles and despite the great colour and spec it has sat for months unsold at a dealer, whether that is due to the miles I don't know.

Hardly high mileage on the AB car at 5 1/2 years old even by McLaren standards, I’d be more concerned about a car that probably hasn’t turned a wheel for months on end tbh,,

I'd go for the AB car between the two. A car that's been used for a few thousand miles a year is a better bet than one that's sat with little use, to my mind, more likely the niggles will have been surfaced and fixed.

As long as the 'higher' mileage car is still in top notch condition visually, I'd see it as at least as valuable, I certainly wouldn't pay a TEN GRAND premium for very low miles.

Plus if you put 10k miles on each car over three years say, then I think the gap will have closed between them.

Plus AB have a good rep, plus Track Pack is worth something, the best wheels for one.

Agree with Davy, i would suspect its around about the market average, i would still take it over the main dealer one and sitting in the P1's with the track pack will be as close as you can get to a 600lt without spending 40k more.

Spending 100k plus you'd have to justify it by either getting a 570 spider or a 2018/19 car at the minimum
