Anyone have an outlook for old Sports Series range?

Sounds like one of those decisions where an engineering team who'd never driven the car was told to improve the image quality, and it was cheaper to put it on an existing higher res screen than improved the touchscreen. Right up there with Maserati putting the fog light switch in the centre strip, but the fuel cap release in the glovebox where the wife couldn't reach it from the driver's seat.
I guess its still better to have it well visible some of the time than at no time, which is essentially what it is on the IRIS screen of my 650.JDH1 said:
Strange market. The three most expensive 600LT spiders on here are all private sales.
I think youve probably just got owners who have been offered a low p/ex or dealers who wont take them sor because the owner wants too much, so they are having a go privately, cant blame them for trying i guess.I was very conscious when wanting to sell mine that although i had a figure in mind, anyone willing to take it on sor valued the car similarly, we were very close so it worked out fine. If we had been miles apart i probably would have chanced my arm for a month privately.
Rather than pay a trader £5K to try sell your car why not have a go yourself, advertise the car at the same money but knock the £5K off for the buyer, no third party involved,, not as many cash buyers and folk with a p/x though, that’s the only downfall ,, anything over £160K is pure fantasy in most cases imho..

Completely agree with this, I bought my 600 LT private and the owner got 5-10k more than selling to Mclaren trade and I got it for around 10k less than buying from Mclaren.Always try to sell privately first, especially if you have more than three months warranty left on car.
Having recently entered the market to search for a Sports Series McLaren this is my personal observations so far:
- There are quite a few cars with low spec (4 speaker audio, standard wheels, no lux pack etc) so on the surface the prices might seem attractive but when you get into the spec there is quite a big variation in what you get for the money. Getting a car with security, luxury, and other good options like the super light weight wheels, sports exhaust etc do come at a slight premium.
- It feels like the brighter colour cars like oranges, blues, greens are rarer to find in the lower end of the price brackets and when they do appear with sensible spec and mileage they seem to get sold quite quickly
- McWarranty seems to be a factor for buyers, I have seen a couple of cars where the prices have been put up with updated advert saying it comes with a Mcwarranty. I suspect the sellers realised that they were always being asked this by buyers so decided to go get a warranty put on to help with the sale.

Not actually true. Of the four most expensive 600LT spiders listed on PH, three of them are with dealers, with one black one a private listing.https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13927601
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14404875
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14681905
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/14515505
That's odd! Not what my search pulls up. With the exception of the LE edition one, the top three are private sales.

I'm probably doing something wrong.

Seems to be quite common. Same way there are 650S listed in the 12C section also etc
Yeah, I assume people think their car won't get much exposure in the spider section alone so put it in the section where there are more cars and assumedly more views etc etc. Understanding I suppose given there are only 8 cars listed in the Spider section and circa 25 in the coupe section........Well close sarnie 16 coupes and 8 spiders on PH,, also still cars still on here that have been sold, bit of housekeeping required..
When you actually count them there’s only 10 coupes and 15 spiders !!! so yes people listing in both on here,,

Seems to be quite common. Same way there are 650S listed in the 12C section also etcI really don't see why people do this. Same when buying the Z4, the number of people who thought coupes had fabric roof was astounding, and if people were looking for the roadster they wouldn't see the advert.
EDIT - actually my mistake, when I remove the GT filter one car appears twice as a sponsored advert.
