Weather not conducive to top down fun at the minute hope that’ll change . I was considering a 650s Spider after the 570s coupe as the cost to change wasn’t that much, went for the 600LT in the end which is hilarious on the noise front. How does the 650s sound with the back window/ roof down?
How big a difference is the noise from 570S to 600LT?Implus1 said:

I always thought the 570s sounded good but dropping the back window allows so much noise to flow in in the LT, much more aural detail than a coupe allows for. The way the thing fizzes when you’re on it and then of course the pops on downshifts …it’s brilliant and a big difference over the coupe. I had a 570s Spider for a weekend a few yrs ago and even with that the difference is quite noticeable . davek_964 said:

Perhaps your old one had knackered bushes ?
Maybe - although it was a 7k mile / 4.5 year old car when I bought it so it shouldn't have had then The 8k mile 12C I bought in December needed two front arms as the bushes were dead. Drove so much tighter post repair.

My air brake fault should now be sorted - I visited V Engineering after work yesterday, fully intending to leave the car with them (as we'd agreed when I booked it in). But by the time I'd said "Hello" to Paul, the car was in their workshop with the spoiler being removed.......
Swapping the sensors proved that the sensor was good, and the poor readings stayed on the same side of the spoiler - it was determined that it was actually play in the pin / shaft that the sensor mounts on.
I assumed that meant I needed a new part - but somehow Stephen modified the part within about 5 mins and problem solved - perfect readings from both sides, and I was driving home an hour later.
It's nice to know the car is now sorted, so hopefully I'll get to use it a bit as the weather warms up and decide it's staying for a while. It was handy seeing it up on a ramp - bottom of the engine is very very clean, so clearly hasn't been used on any salty winter roads.
Each time I use V, I'm more and more impressed.

Agreed the guys at V Eng are superb, so good to have such highly experienced guys to look after our cars at very sensible prices.
I started using them after a less than sparkling experience with my local main dealer a year or so ago telling me I needed a new water pump due to a leak when the car was in for its annual service. However when I shot straight over to look at the issue, it had lost what amounted to about a thimble full leaving a tiny powered mark on the under tray. This I put down to a slightly dry seal after a few months inactivity & would likely get no worse with use.
Which is exactly the case now a year on no further issue at all & confirmed A ok by V Eng at the last visit for which I would have paid out from memory well over £1000 for absolutely no reason at all, to me an attempt at sharp practice as no mention was made of the tiny amount of said leak only that it needed replacing, that sure left a bad taste in the mouth.....
I've since used V a couple of times including for its 5th year annual service & also a replacement heater matrix that sprung the tiniest of leaks on a mammoth 1200 mile drive over a less than 24 hr period on the way back from Italy last year.
I was fearful of a horrendous bill but including having the dash out to do it & all the 28 odd ltrs of coolant the bill was less than £800.
Highly recommended!
