600LT Buying Advice

Personally, I always thought the other seats just made the driver look like they're trying to be some kind of Halfords 'pro racer', but each to their own. Get a crash helmet to complete the look if you're doing that so people can't see you
Its a track car wearing the LT badge, however you use it is totally up to you, but, the P1's and Sennas are there for a reason, as with all the added aero, quicker steering, stiffer spring and bigger brakes over the 570s. If you didnt want to look like some kind of "Halfords pro racer" a set of comfort seats inside a 600lt didnt help one bit.
The original link has gone but I'm guessing it was the black spider in Glasgow?
I'm also in the hunt for a 600LT and went through to Glasgow a couple of times recently to look at their cars. Mrs R even came with me on the second occasion and gave the thumbs up to a spider and the thumbs down to a coupe, which wasn't a bad result.
I wasn't sure what to expect re the car specs but was a bit surprised to see a car with comfort, electric, heated seats. I'd probably had in mind they were all going to like a hardcore Exige on steroids in terms of looks as well as performance. It's great that there's something for everyone tho and it simply helped me narrow down what I was looking for. I tried the Senna sets in a couple of the other cars and found them really comfortable and supportive but also more in tune with what I was mentally imagining. P1 seats would be an ok option.
Similarly, in the flesh it was clear to me that I liked the contrast between the car colour and the carbon bits so it's a bright, in-yer-face colour on my shopping list. All other things being equal I much preferred the cars with as much visible carbon weave on the exterior and interior.
Obviously all of that that narrows down my options a bit but I'm sure there the right one is out there. An orange one if possible methinks

They rotate their stick on auto trader. It saves quite a lot of money! Slightly different reason for the stock changing than you may think as this was routine way before the price tracker came along. fridaypassion said:

Ah that makes sense, how does it save money from a dealer's perspective, do you get a certain amount of free/discounted days for each listing?
The packages that auto trader have will be surprisingly expensive. 10 cars might be £3000 a month bigger dealers can be spending 6 figures it's completely crazy! fridaypassion said:

Blimey, I thought £80 to sell my car was steep!Possibly explain why some cars appear on dealer sites but not on AT. Some cars at a well known indie near Silverstone have been on their website for months, don’t appear to sell and then appear on AT.

I will go through to see them at some point, but theres a few other cars on the list I am keen to experience too.
Yes. That car was in the showroom so I’ve had a great look at it twice and had a 15 min chat with Deane the salesman about it chatting about the spec and how it compares to others.
It looked fantastic and mean and it sounded beefy. If I wasn’t considering buying one I’d simply leave it at that and think “wow”
But, it confirmed to me that I don’t want a dark coloured car. There was an orange coupe with Senna seats on the forecourt that looked far more attractive to me and highlighted the contrast with the body colour and carbon parts better to my eye. Comfort seats looked nice and felt comfortable and were electric and heated. i thought it was a bit odd to find that touch of “luxury” in such a racy looking car but in truth I’m a bit of a poser and probably would be more suited to the comfort spec than a more hardcore one but hey, I know what I like the look of.
There was a higher mileage gray coupe on the forecourt that had all the external and internal options I’d want.. carbon packs everywhere plus wing vents and Senna seats but.. it was dark gray and again lost the contrast between the body and the carbon to me.
Odd thing for me is that if you shout “Ferrari” I think “red” but until actively thinking about owning a McLaren I’d not given much thought to colour I like or don’t like. As we were leaving a fellow PHer was just picking up his green 650 Spider with visible carbon everywhere after a service and just seeing it contrast with the gloom of the day helped focus me on the overall in-yer-face look I’d prefer.

It’s a very nice car, and I will go through and view it. The lack of interior carbon pack now worries me based on the feedback in this thread, especially the resale value and desireability. It looked fantastic and mean and it sounded beefy. I quite like a black car, so this appealed to me. Especially the Batmobile look for my son
I’ll go have a look for myself, but am left with a niggle in the back of my head based on the above, as well as the price.
On the most part it does seem like 600LT buyers were a lot more bold with colour choices, maybe when you were spending that money new a few extra grand for an mso paint colour isnt going to break the bank, as opposed to 570s's, when i was looking to buy and still now there is a lot of low spec/standard colours, probably to keep them at a sensible price.

Generally they're minor/major alternating, with minor coming in under £1k and major maybe double.

Hi there
Hard facts
On servicing cost based in my ownership of my 2020 600 LT Spider:
3rd year minor service: £950
4th year major service: £1700 but McLaren has launched 4+ discount scheme now (4 years old/older) so this will cost me £1300 now.
5th year would also of been a major due to requiring a coolant change but I requested they fill with new at coolant recall to avoid this inflated cost service so 5th year should now be around £800ish.
6th year I’m not sure but suspect it’s a minor around £750.
Brake fluid change at £250 is a joke but that is dealer pride for you but all in all the servicing is no worse than Ferrari probably slightly cheaper and much cheaper than a Lambo.
