Hi there

Hard facts
On servicing cost based in my ownership of my 2020 600 LT Spider:
3rd year minor service: £950
4th year major service: £1700 but McLaren has launched 4+ discount scheme now (4 years old/older) so this will cost me £1300 now.
5th year would also of been a major due to requiring a coolant change but I requested they fill with new at coolant recall to avoid this inflated cost service so 5th year should now be around £800ish.
6th year I’m not sure but suspect it’s a minor around £750.

Brake fluid change at £250 is a joke but that is dealer pride for you but all in all the servicing is no worse than Ferrari probably slightly cheaper and much cheaper than a Lambo.
Who you using for insurance put of interest, getting some crazy quotes approaching renewal time?

Funnily enough i got a message this morning on a whats app group about a petition kicking around that was registered with the goverment portal about insurance prices going through the roof. Probably all those nicked Range Rovers.

JLR were in the press recently suggesting that Range Rovers aren't Britain's most stolen car.

The same article mentions they're investing £10m to prevent vehicle thefts on top of £15m spend enhancing security of old cars.

Mmmmm......

Depending on sources, they may not be the most stolen, but 5 out of 10 models in the top ten isnt bad going biglaugh

Yeah I saw that quote fiesta was the most stolen I think but I'm sure iff you add the RR variants it will be multiples more nicked from a pot of cars that's a 10th of the size!

The guy at Admiral tried telling me the rise was because during and after the pandemic we were all paying less for our insurance and now it’s just gone up to what it should of been,, like yeah ! More to do with them wanting to make the same profits as they did during that period,,,

And surely loads less claims as we werent allowed out, its all a load of old tosh to try and justify making more money. I think i recall Warren Buffett saying insurance was one the best industries as you get all the money upfront, so it can be invested.
