Yes very interested in a BEV i3S my commute is ten miles a day in traffic, let hear your thoughts.
Do what i did, buy the cheapest second hand small battery i3 you can find! Spend the extra on something for the weekend ;-)

(actually, better yetm get a bike ;-) )

Already have a weekend toy, the car is actually for my other half wink test drove a Rex a few weeks ago, but the handling/ body control put me off the Rex I could really feel the extra weight in the back of the car, hence the interest in the S model with its wider stance and revised suspension settings along with lower ride height.

Keen to get one of these once the ZOE goes back in April..

Did discount it previously as needed to get a pram in the boot, but now we are a pushchair family it’s game on!

Will see what lease deals turn up in the next month, otherwise will look at nearly new BEVs at dealers

Eventually got my 24hr test drive sorted with Williams Manchester (Purchased 2 cars from them but thought I would give my new local dealer a chance. Big mistake!!).

Pick the car up next Wednesday so that I can try out my intended commute and drop it back on Thursday.

Will feed back my thoughts compared to my M135i. Should be interesting smile

I ordered an i3s today, drove an i3 for the first time today at the dealer before ordering. First time i’d driven an electric car and it was good. I like all sorts of cars and engines but seems I also like electric cars 😆

the i3 is very much a 'feel good' car. Difficult to explain why. You either get how it looks or you don't (i'm a fan) but somehow, it manages to feel like something genuinely new and exciting, which considering it's actually getting on a bit now is even more surprising!

So, did 150 miles in an i3Rex yesterday. 70mph on cruise on the motorway for 90 miles and Cheshire back lanes for the rest. Left my 2016 M135i at Williams Manchester while I have the car.

What a giggle!! The instant pull is addictive and the look of confusion from some drivers as they think 'oh god, electric car, I have to get in front of that or i'll never get home' as you shoot off into the distance out of every corner is priceless.

Managed 140 miles from a full charge before the Rex kicked in and the weather yesterday morning was horrendous so full heater, wipers and heated seats for a bit. I think that is really good and would certainly fit my needs. Popped in to show my parents the car and gave them a demo loop of 5 miles of dual carriageway and town center and only hit the brake pulling back up their drive, the regen braking is that good.

Have to take it back today and talk numbers but it is a very good car. A nice place to spend time and everything seems to be well thought out. I do a lot of cycling so take bikes and mates with bikes to races nearly every weekend and it was easy to load up and plenty of room with the seats down and the lack of B pillar is great. Don't think it will take a roof rack though and not sure the plastic panels would take a suction rack either. May need to google if anyone has done so.

Plastic panels mean less urgency to jump on the inevitable motorway stone chips and no more door dings but that windscreen is huge so plenty scope for picking up chips on that.

Was quite windy yesterday so noticed it was much more effected by cross winds but roll into corners is a lot less than expected, probably due to the weight being so low.

Did a quick post to my mates via Facebook and they usual came back. 'Can you get those on motorbility?, are you trying to grab a granny, i thought roller skates came in pairs, your street cred will be zero in that' so it shows the strange perception of these types of cars to petrolhead types.

The numbers today will sway my decision but can I live without the 'feeling part of the machine' and the noise of my 135? I need to think long and hard.

If I had the funds I would have either an M2 or some form of Lotus in the garage for fun and would sign on the dotted line straight away.

Great (not so little) car BMW.

Glad you enjoyed it! Your petrolhead mates will change their minds when you take them out in it. It is surprising how many ex-M135i drivers end up in an i3.

Have you joined the UK i3 Facebook group?

330e driver here - my lease is up in November and our company get us to start choosing a new car 6 months prior to that.

Local BMW are being nice to me and giving me a 24 hour test drive of a new 93Ah i3s - my work commute is 78 miles round trip so I wanted to be able to test one now whilst the battery range will be at it's worst, compared to when I'd be able to get a test via fleet when battery life will be at it's best (mid summer).

What sort of workable range are people seeing from the new capacity? Admittedly there are 4x 22kW free chargers up the road from my work at a local sainsburys and they're looking to install chargers at work, but with a car park of 3500 cars you can imagine how easy it'll be to schedule charging times.

The minimum I have seen on my 94 is about 80 miles on a cold day after some reasonable lead footed driving.

I get 150 miles in the summer, 100 in the winter.

I have a love/hate relationship with mine.

It's perfect for my suburban motoring needs and surprisingly quick and luxurious - I just can't stand the looks, especially from the rear!

Anybody managed to secure a discount off list price? My dealer said that they were just 'agents' for BMW GB and it was BMW GB that determined the price and no discount on an i3s was available.

i'm 2 years into a 3 year PCP on my fully loaded M135i Auto and they are saying i'm still £3k in negative equity on the PCP deal and would also want £4k down on the i3.

Not making it financially viable for me at the moment as the fuel savings are less than the money BMW want me to put in to change. Granted I would be back on 3 years warranty etc but still too much for me at the moment.

Yes we were told the same at Bournemouth BMW, nothing doing no free service packs and absolutely no over allowances on trade ins or discount for cash or finance purchases using BMW financial services rolleyes

There may be incentives from BMW i towards the end of March, ie end of the quarter. When I first looked at the i3 it did not make financial sense but dealer got in touch mid September (2016) to say there were additional contributions now available which made the change more palatable.

4 month waiting list for new orders (from i3 UK Facebook group). Likely why there are no deals.

Wonder if the s/h value is increasing? I bought my BEV pretty much bottom book 18 months ago (11 months old, ex demo, 285 miles on the clock, £16k)

(now i'm looking for a crashed one to take the motor out of and make mine 4wd......... ;-)

it has been like that for some time. Got mine in September and had to wait nearly 5 months. I am definitely seeing more on the road all the time, although it my be more lack of capacity at the factory?

I hope used values do firm up. I think that would make sense as they become more mainstream and given the falling diesel sales. Everyone who seems to go in them (and other EV's) seem very impressed, so I am sure they will catch on more.
