Free piston petrol range extender?

The piston should effectively 'float' in the center of the magnet core. the only resistance in its movement is the sealing piston ring(s)
There is extra resistance from the magnets that are producing electricity, but you can control how much resistance there is by making each 'generator' separate and turn them on or off depending on how much EV you wish to produce.
What you want is a small bore, long stroke, to generate max power per stroke.
I think this could be made with around 125cc, like a scooter engine, running at say 2000 rpm, it would be the size of a show box or two and should be enough to keep batteries topper up.
Wish i had the time and expertise to put my thoughts into practice!
