Not sure if we're doing something wrong, or it's kaput.

Had our Leaf since May, had the wallpod fitted at the same time. Worked fine, charge timer set to charge overnight, no problems.

Then we started having a couple of mornings where the car hadn't taken any charge. Coloured LED ring not lit with any colour. Not a massive problem, our commute is 20-30 miles round trip. Quick flick of the breaker on the unit, and back up and running the next night.

Called the installers who said that as it was an intermittent problem, it was most likely something wrong with the car. This didn't seem likely with how things were going, so just said fine, and hung up.

Happened a bit more frequently, until now, the LED was off, so switched it on and off. Tried plugging it in, LED went straight off, like it was tripping the breaker. The breaker is still intact, so something else is stopping it working.

As an emergency measure, it's plugged in via granny cable, but haven't got a suitably close plug (why would I need one when I paid for a charging point) and having it plugged in to an extension is making me nervous.

Anyone got any insight into problems with these units?

I've had a Rolec Wallpod at home for a few years. I specified the 32A version and I was charging my 16A leaf - no problems. When I bought a Tesla, I had some problems with the breaker tripping overnight (Tesla charges at 32A). I've "solved" this by limiting the Tesla charge current to below 30A - it's a option on the Tesla charging menu and is location specific smile. Since then no problems. My Wallpod breaker is rated at 32A and I'm guessing there is no headroom, so it trips too easily when using all 32A. I purchased another Rolec 32A recently for my brother and I noticed the breaker is now rated at 40A.
Are you charging at max capacity? (either a 16A Leaf with a 16A Wallpod or a 32A Leaf with a 32A Wallpod). What is the rating on your Wallpod breaker? I'd call Rolec for advice.

PM if you want - we install Rolec units and happy to try and help a PHer

There can be a few niggles but not often with Leafs (some other models such as Zoe and PHEV can have some issues)

I'm assuming you've tried charging to car at a public charger (AC not rapid charging) as there's been a couple of times where blame is pointed to the car, but if it's charging elsewhere then it points to the charger cable/connector, charger unit or (rare but seen it a couple of times) something internal working with the house or problems with earthing etc
