I wish someone in the know could explain these crazy lead times to me. I think I can understand a desire to have something of an order book so your no doubt hideously expensive factory is never sat idle, but since buying a new MB myself and frequenting the forum a bit, there seem to be quite a few issues across the entire range with various options being in short supply, leading to frankly crazy lead times. I wonder how many customers go elsewhere when presented with a 6-9 month wait? Are the competition any better??
I'm increasingly glad I opted to take a stock car. Just wish I'd had the wit/nerve/sense to negotiate a better deal. Then again, given how hard these things seem to be to get, maybe I was always going to be onto a loser there.

I imagine quite a lot of buyers will be in a similar position to me where they can just hold on to their existing company car until the new one arrives, so it's generally a bit frustrating but not massively annoying.Now, though, I don't actually have much faith in the bloody thing getting here before we go on holiday in August, despite ordering in October! That is starting to have a bigger impact, as if it's not here, I'll have to find an alternative vehicle, as the current one isn't suitable...
Ah, of course...completely forgot probably the single biggest market - company cars!! Never had one myself so was guilty of just viewing it from my own perspective. I'm sure many will consider me mad for purchasing a new hybrid outright. I plan on keeping it a long time though, so maybe it'll work out.

Why on earth anyone would want to swap body-coloured wing mirrors for black ones is beyond me, and given the choice, I'd immediately ban tinted rear windows. I've got the bloody things in my current car, and I've been regretting them ever since I first drove the thing in anything other than perfect daylight four years ago...

king dreadful!I quite like the little visuals that flag up the lane you need to be in, and when it was telling me to look out for lane closures ahead, I rather got my hopes up that I might actually be able to make use of it and not have to rely on Google Maps on my phone...
That was right up until it decided to take me from the M25 onto the M3 Southbound when said junction was closed for work, and must've been scheduled as such weeks if not months in advance!!! How can it be telling me about temporary lane closures, but not mentioning full on junction closures??
I am, however, keeping my fingers crossed that mine will be better when it eventually arrives, as I've gone for the Premium Plus, which includes live internet updates. Surely that would know when an M25 junction is shut?
Have P+ on ours which gets the TomTom based Nav (I think) and compared to my other cars, I find it pretty good. Negative comments would be it has some pretty bizarre pronunciations at times and treats very large roundabouts like a series of turns, which caught me out at first. Funny enough, I was round the whole M3 closed bit a couple of weeks back and it did a fine job of navigating me round/through it all I thought.
On the whole, very happy with it myself, but then I am comparing it with an 11 year old Jeep that we still have and a 16 year old Alfa that the C replaced so I guess I had low expectations.
I did make use of Google Maps for Nav while on holiday in the US and found it remarkably good. Liked the way it played nicely when streaming audio as well. I can see me using that in the Jeep perhaps but not the C.

Makes a big difference to the sat nav. The normal one is Garmin based, the PP is Tom Tom and is pretty good, other than as Chris says, asking you to turn left at most major roundabouts!

Was sweating at the weekend as I was in the sticks miles from any petrol station with no way of knowing if I could get home as I have to use BP stations for work.
Only when I did get home and used the App did it tell me I had 18 miles left.

BMW offer two satnavs too, but I agree it's a bit of a swizz.
I haven't had one car which displays a range below 50 miles. The posh satnav does tell you where your nearest petrol station is though!

Many years ago, I had a Saab 900 Turbo briefly as a company car, which was the first car I'd ever had which actually showed a range at all. On one occasion, with a fuel can in the boot, I got that down to -23 miles before it ran out!
At long last, one day short of eight months after I placed the order, I have just had confirmation that my car is in the country and available for delivery!!!
Now, next question... How has everyone gone about running theirs in? Does having the hybrid make any difference to that, or do you just take it easy for the first couple of thousand miles whilst the engine beds in?

I asked about running in when I picked mine up. The dealer told me not to worry about it, so I didn't. I might have been a bit easier of the first 500 miles if it were my money though.
It's also not my money. 
My only real interest was if I'd be able to improve future fuel economy and/or performance by running it in properly, but I suppose most new cars for the last 3 decades haven't really required much of a run in, have they?

One of the first things I intend to do with mine is figure out how to open the roof! I couldn't for the life of me find the relevant button on the test drive car I had, and almost reverted to actually reading the manual!
