Fully Charged video on the 330e, he does like the doors hehe . A few things that may have already been discussed here in the many pages so far. BMW claim over 100mpg in the official figures, the live MPG readout goes up to 99.9. and there's a bit of a delay between right foot and forward motion when you floor it?

Yes it's Robert Llewellyn, he's had that YouTube channel going for a few years. I did think it was pretty well known around these parts of the forum (EV and alternative) but hey ho!

Seems to be a weakness of the BMW system - my F10 is the same.
Is there a setting somewhere to control Bluetooth audio volume?
It's bluetooth and your phone that's to be likely to be the problem and not the BMW - latest version of Android supposedly syncs the bluetooth send volume to the media volume but don't know if the BMW supports that - and haven't noticed any claims for enhanced codec support like Apt-X though my iPhone doesn't support it anyway. Some phones will remember the specific connection volume from last use, some don't. My iPhone always seems to connect at low bluetooth send-volume to any device, including the BMW.

I inked my mine up on Friday in my sport spec. Have worked out I need to achieve 40 mpg on petrol to break even on fuel allowance

Traveled 250 miles this morning and averaged 43mpg and the battery has charged back up to 70%. Happly with that

sn't there always battery power to complement the petrol engine as it always keeps 20% of the charge?
Battery will run to 1% in ecopro.. in comfort the lowest I've seen is about 3%

Question:-
Have any chavs tried it on yet and if so what were they in and did they get treated to a nice image of the back of your car pulling away?

I'm not advocating nor encouraging street racing though.
Yep, a Ford Focus with a very loud exhaust tried it on and I showed him what a 330e looks like in his rear view mirror.... it was a pretty monstrous Focus RS lol

unfortunately, i did not try the 330e. The choice were either 225xe or the C-class estate PHEV
A colleague gets a C350e shortly as he didn't think he'd manage with the 300e boot. I don't find it that bad but next time round would love a 430e GC - but I suspect if it does exist it will be over the new £40k threshold which will make it very expensive on a lease. Saw something hte other day predicting the next 3 series with the batteries in the chassis would have 2 e models with different electric ranges and 2 different petrol engine sizes but not sure if that was pure speculation

I smoked a gti golf and a range rover svr, both of them looked stunned.( This was during my test drive)

I'm thinking of ordering a black grille, black wing mirror covers and a small black lip spoiler to go with my white 330e.
What do you lot think or shall I grow old gracefully? All of these can be removed when I return the car.

I'm confused (or he is anyway...).

The C350e loses 35L more boot space than the 330e, and ends up with a less than idle shape (not flat like the BMW).

Hi Folks,

New to the fold and have just recently ordered my 330e M Sport. Looks like there's still a wait on these cars so I'm having to try and learn this "patience" thing that other people often talk to me about.

Having already driven one of these cars I'm smitten. I'd have liked a better electric range (perhaps 30 real world miles) but at least it's a start!.

I decided well before the VW emissions scandal that my current car would be my last diesel. I've decided to go Petrol Hybrid largely because I feel the Government has done us good and proper with diesel - enticing us in with low tax only to then turn around and tell us actually diesel is worse for your health and we're likely to tax you more now that we know this.

...also I really wanted a Tesla but can't afford one frown

I'd be interested to hear if any of you have done the same and switched to the 330e for similar reasons?.

Sorry omitted that it's an estate he's ordered as no 330e tourer

Ah, that makes sense then smile

Definitely one advantage the Merc has over the Bimmer.

Interested to hear more about the SVR smoking given the 0-60 times of both cars...

I've noticed that having automatic and the immediate torque say 0-30 makes a big difference in pulling away. Edit - only 0-30 times I could find indicated 1.4s for SVR, 2s for 330e

Interested to know if that was with Sport and S gearbox or just kick down in comfort mode ?

Hi Everyone biggrin
I have a little issue about my 330e. Whenever i want to enable max edrive mode, i can see that option is disabled in eco pro, comfort mode with D transmission and information is saying that "max edrive is not avaliable. system request". Today i drove around 100km in the city with a very bad traffic and sometimes i used sport mode.
(image is at below)
I checked the car manual and it says, max edrive may not work if hybrid mode is malfunctioning or very low level battery (mine has %40 now), or very high battery temperature.
I stopped the car, waited for 2 hours (ambient temperature is 31degree celcius), still the same message :/. ( i will check in the morning as well)
If i press start button, combustion engine starts immediately, (normally it should start in electric ready-state mode)
If i drive in sport mode, i can see both combustion engine + electric engine is working, i can see the electric consumption. i assume hybrid mode is working fine.
Can it be a problem or i just panic for no reason ?
it's still winter here, but i did get the same Grey-ed out situation when i started the car cold in -3 oC. the manual says there is some kind of liquid cooling system for the battery, i guess there is certain limitation what it can do.

to be honest...i think we are still very much in the lab rat phase, hence the price, but i can see the drive train will mature more in the near future. BMW and Merc both announced their whole entire car line up will have PHEV in every model. once the production numbers hit mainstream, then the price will start to come down (or iincrease slower than other variant like diesel and pure-petrol).

what i want to see is cars like 225xe and 330e, but with a range of 50 miles and can charge that little faster, say 1.5 hours for 80%. we can already see cars sucking up power at 7kWh, so in theory, that can charge the 225xe in one hour. but instead, that fastest charging time is less than half, i.e. 2hr 15 mins. I'm pretty sure it is a software thing that bmw wants to limit it on the safe side. let's hope this can be retrofit via software update in near future. also we can start to see new generation batteries arriving, like the new i3. so there are much much much more room for improvement, so i wouldn't worry about not jumping in right now.
