Oh my goodness, now it's getting complicated.
To add to that, mine has been purchased outright by my employer who have an agreement with BMW to allow the normal scheduled service requirements to be completed by the inhouse fleet management. Although when it comes to faults or issues with the car, i'm normally asked to take it to a dealer to rectify.

But with the EU block exemption you don't invalidate your warranty by going outside BMW.
Allegedly. But it would be very interesting to see who would accept liability if there were issues with a such a complex motor as a 330e if something cropped up after an indy service.

The point is though, BMW standard servicing is not expensive and the dealer I use never tries to add things on.

Strange they allow that, the BMW dealership I use only has 1 (or may be 2 now) guy who are fully qualified to isolate and work on all aspects of the 330e. It is different animal from the rest, and I say that as someone who has had faulty samsung batteries replaced.

If I was an employer I certainly would not risk it for next to no saving and possibly a lot less expertise.

edit: quoted wrong first time, sry.

On a different note, anyone managed to test the 0-60 in just electric only mode? Just curious if forced to only use electric what we can expect as a rough guide? I guess the same query could be made regarding petrol only if there's no electric. I'd hazard a guess that it'd be a little slower than the 320i due to the extra weight so perhaps 8 seconds ish if only using the petrol motor?
0 to 30 is a better test , as its as quick as anything else around you , after 30 the initial torque tails off and then slow but steady acceleration continues, you only achieve speeds above 60 on the flat or down hill. Remember it's a heavy car with only 80hp on the batteries. However i'm sure the engine still starts up in maxedrive if you use kick down /max throttle?

The car never actually lets the batteries run flat , 7% is the lowest i've ever seen so the car produces enough energy to keep an element back for joint power delivery and running other important functions. Even using battery save mode, the car still allows both power plants to maintain performance . It does feel slightly more responsive on a fresh charge but its marginal, the car is quick in any mode or state of battery.
So my first attempt at measuring 0-60 time on battery only: 15.47 seconds, with 0-30 4.6 seconds. That was avoiding kickdown, but I think otherwise full throttle.

Does that mean that the quoted service costs tend to be inclusive of all parts and things like that? What happens when you go of the end of the three years? Do any of you plan keeping your 330e for ten years, or are you all just planning to sell them after 3 years?

Thanks!

I didn't take any service pack.
It maybe depends what technological advances are made over the next few years but I currently plan on keeping mine beyond 3 years (it was a private purchase).

Got my car yesterday (absolutely love it, pics to follow). An Audi TTS put his foot down in front of me and I was already in sport+ so followed suit.
He didn't get away from me wink

Tusker, who I have my current golf with, don't seem too bothered about main dealer servicing as they charge an extra tenner a month for it. I didn't select it so mine goes to a local Bosch garage. I have gone the same way with with the eagerly awaited 330e.

Nice one...cheers for that!.

Not bad results really. Obviously no Tesla but then it's not meant to be either. I'd be happy enough with those stats - should I find I'm unable to call upon petrol power combined smile

Can anyone answer question regarding heated side mirrors ?
Do they only heat and clear with the engine running.
My morning travel is usually Eco Pro and Max eDrive which maybe why they don't clear or will they heat and clear in Comfort or Sport Modes with Max eDrive ?
Anyone experienced this issue and resolved.
This is one of my pet hates - they're not included in pre-conditioning, maybe BMW did their trials in summer ?

And dont use eco pro if you want them to de-mist, not that they're exceptionally quick in comfort but they do then actually de-mist, dont think max e-drive matters, just not eco pro

Same here with my current Tusker car ( Renault), all servicing and Last weeks MOT have been at a local fleet car garage; I've taken my current car into Renault just for updates and a few tech issues. I've also chose the same option ( non manufacturer) for the 330e servicing which gets delivered next Friday. If I were thinking of buying at the end then I guess I would have chosen the BMW service.
When I ordered back in October, Tusker had a few deals on with free charge point with chargedev and special lower price deals. I think since I've ordered mine and with the new system gone into place this April, it would be about £70 a month more now.

What's everybody's thoughts on the quickest way to accelerate the car. I find acceleration is quicker if you shift through the gears at around 5000rpm, rather than revving the nuts off of it to redline..

Yeah I know. I'm glad the lead time was 20 weeks for the BMW as it meant I had to put my order in early to coincide with my current lease end. Thus missing the price hike and saving £2700 over the 3 years. Nice

Out of interest... What led to you needing to replace the battery pack? Was it a lengthy process to replace?

My car had a dodgy battery cell so the samsung spread under the boot needed replaced. Just a pity BMW had no spares, no tools and do not give a jot after they have your £40k. Lengthy process? 6 weeks but, luckily (maybe?) I was out of the country for a large part of the pathetic process so they got off lightly.

BMW UK were absolutely appalling to deal with and their attitude was utterly disgraceful. It would take too long to cover their failings and disgusting lack of customer service. BMW assist were not far behind with their replacement car shambles either.

Crikey frown that's real rough going. Pretty embarrassing for BMW the whole faff three put you through. They should do better. How did you pick up on the dodgy cell? Poor EV range?

So made some needed changes to my charging set up at home. Consists of a MasterPlug IP54 weatherproof box for the transformer to call home.
Now have the plug in a weatherproof socket (padlocked) and the weatherproof box (padlocked) for the transformer, making it more discreet and secure.

The computer picked it up & displayed the drive train problem on screen when I was 90 miles from home. Said to proceed carefully so I called the dealership at the time and they confirmed ok to drive home then call BMW assist. All downhill after that, BMW assist were very, very poor, BMW customer service were appalling like I said but BMW were not put out in the slightest. They already had my £40k less grant for an outright purchase so simply wanted to wash their hands of it.
