As far as I know, the professional media is £900 extra and for that you get a larger touch screen (who in their right mind would want to deliberately lean forward and smudge the screen with their fingers?)
As far as I'm aware there is no option for a touch screen in the 3 series unless this is something new? I've got the larger 8.8 screen with the touch controller and latest iDrive and it's excellent (far better than the standard 6.5). Has anyone done any coding on this model?
It's something I never got round to doing on my 520d but there are various things I'd like to change when I get my 330e, such as enabling eco-pro by default, high beam assistant, and cruise control in 'ready' mode rather than having to select it every time. I'm sure there would be more to consider also. I always seem to have to press loads of buttons to get things as I want every time I start the car!

Touch screen is new for professional media on new builds as confirmed by BMW Genius chat. How long have you had your car?
Edit: I know it's a different market but have a look at this video, 2 minutes in..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCNjML8A3wg

Interesting, although personally with the current position of the screen, touch is a pain to be honest. How long have you had your car?

Car was delivered in May.

I would like to know this as well. I would like to reduce the time it takes before the mirrors fold in for a start. Mine arrived last Monday, 7 months after ordering (thanks to lex autolease). Anyway, I have idrive 6, but it isn't touch screen. Not that I'm bothered, I test drove vw's with touchscreens and they are dangerous imho.
Anyway, is anyone else getting much better mpg in sport mode as opposed to eco-pro?. I got 52.3 mpg on my 16.6 mile trip home today, with 7% battery remaining when I set off. That's almost as good as my previous a3 1.6 tdi manual!!

It must be a Lex thing, ordered mine middle of August and the dealer was still chasing them last week for the confirmation, I've got an ETA of January Anyway, is anyone else getting much better mpg in sport mode as opposed to eco-pro?. Anyone know if the app can send you a notification when the car is charged?
Not as far as I'm aware, no. The original App (Brown Icon) will give you an estimated time to fully charged tho. I've not checked while charging, but the Connected Drive portal (www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk) may inform you.Edited by Rob-kqpsf on Thursday 5th October 11:35

From my experience, the only notifications you get from the connected drive app on the iphone is on the journey time of the last trip, soon after you stop.It doesn't send you a notification on charging status but on the vehicle tab in the app it will tell you the current charged % status and the estimated time at full charge.

I ordered mine at the end of June, lex gave me weekly updates that it would be with the dealers in the U.K. tomorrow, I checked with BMW genius and it’s not due to be built for another month.
