You only get the normal mains socket charger box. You'll either need a lead for your new charger, or get the tethered variety that has the lead attached.

Thanks appreciate the quick reply, we have chargers at work so will need to purchase one as they are just posts with no leads attached when no one is active in them.

If you want the BMW branded blue coiled public charging cable, they are available from BMW dealers on eBay for around £135.

Took my car to get the tyres checked tonight as the outside edge of the front tyres are quite worn. Turns out all 4 tyres need changing ! (15,000 miles)

Currently the car has Pirelli's on they've been ok, but never felt greatly assured in the wet, and also found them very noisy, but I don't know if that's the nature of low profile run flats?

What tyres would you recommend?

It's a fully matained package so cost isn't so much an issue

Thanks

I was pleasantly surprised when my car was delivered with Eagle F1s on, was terrified of getting Bridgestone crap. Been very happy with the F1s, low road noise and excellent handling. And at 17 months + 17k miles, they have worn consistently and will do a while yet.

I've gone for the Goodyear Eagles as they get better reviews for noise

Only realised this morning when getting the tyre sizes, they are currently Bridgestone Potenza's

Getting them fitted next weekend so will do a comparison after

Yes - sport trim
Well, the now "standard" folding rear seats on the Sport effectively cost £325 - that is the increase in list price from the July list price (now '18 MY vs 17A MY). They also increased the list price on the Sport by £1,145 when they fitted "standard" LED headlights and iDrive 6 on builds from July.

MPG update from me....

Today’s jaunt into the office and back. Chester to Birmingham and back.

Started the day fully charged, then ran in SAVE and Auto eDrive to boost the batteries back up to do a mix of ICE and electric driving.

Pretty much what I used to get from a 136hp diesel A4 Avant....

Personally I wouldn't ever bother with save if you look at the mpg whilst in save mode it will shock you. Better to just save the battery for roads less than 30 mph IMO

I now quite often travel Bradford to Oswestry and back and can avg late 40's but never use save !

^^ yup avoid save. It crushes the MPG.

Can the normal mains charger lead be used at the other chargers (at motorway service stations for example) or do you need to buy the other lead for those?

The standard charger supplied with the car has a domestic 13A Plug fitted so unless you can find a 13A socket to plug into, you need the other lead.

I agree but also disagree....

Around town using SAVE mode does kill the mpg, I’m doing low 20s when in this mode.

However, on faster A roads and motorways the hit is significantly less, maybe 3-4 mpg tops.

By running in SAVE mode on the motorway, it tops the batteries back up for running in stop / start traffic or around town.

A typical journey for me is M40 south to the M25 and then round anti-clockwise.

Provided the batteries are full when I get to the M25, I can then run in Auto or Full eMode in the heavier traffic.

This gives an overall mpg of mid to high 40s typically, which based on my previous diesel A4 Avant is better mpg!

This is my experience as well, running on save @ 60/70mph is not hard on the mpg and gives app 3% a mile. Works for me before reaching the city and having full e mode for that part. As discussed before as well, having the battery fully charged on a long distance journey and driving in save mode is not a problem on mpg either.

At the end of the day, the battery size on the car limits any economy savings if you are driving further than for the weekly shop more or less. I try my best to use e mode for all my local / town jaunts but generally drive in save or sport when any distance is involved. I still get free public charging, have a fuel card anyway and have averaged 51mpg since new.

Our 3 point charger gave up the ghost after two weeks of ownership last week so it is at the dealers today to see what problem is. Used the car (ie fuel!) to charge battery on motorway for town slog at end of journey. Still getting 43mpg on a weeks worth of petrol only driving which given our previous 320d did 43 cant complain.

Today’s jolly back home, Started the day in Edinburgh, up to Glenrothes, then back to Chester via Motherwell.

Battery at 13% on start up meant the morning rush hour through Edinburgh was giving 22mpg.

Ran in SAVE to boost the batteries up on the way down the M74 / M6, then Auto eDrive thereafter.

Cruise control on at 77mph all the way back to the M56.

My chosen method for using save mode that seems to work is electric from house to M5 J2 (approx 15 miles) save mode on motorway once past the roadworks at J1 and top up battery to 70% with Mpg down to about 50. Once I hit average speed roadworks at M6 J16 back into electric which just about gets me through the average speed and then auto edrive. Then I should get to Runcorn on about 65 Mpg or Manchester on between 60-65.

Using save mode works out better than not doing it on the tests I've done.

Then the game is to find somewhere to top up to come home maintaining that mpg!

On a side note I had 320d as a courtesy car and I much prefer the 330e, so much smoother and more responsive in my opinion

My car came back from warranty work without the handbook. There's no other explanation for why it's now missing. It's too long ago now to make it worthwhile going back the garage but could someone tell me what the oil specification is as an internet search brings a variety of different results. I plan to do interim oil changes.
Thanks in advance!

From the Driver's Guide (download/open with the last 7 characters of your VIN), the oil specs are ACEA A3/B4. See Guide for grades.
