On a normal ICE when I start them up I usually leave it for a minute or so before setting off and only ever give it the full beans when the oil temp is at the correct operating level. Normally 9 miles.... in the summer winter is more.
So given the 330e and other PHEVs can start and go off electric when the petrol burst into life the car will be moving and underload off the bat. Does that increase wear? It's like turning the key and instantly pulling away.
Also given in stop start traffic the oil temp of he ICS will drop so you might think engine has been running so can give it the beans as and when- but in reality it could be way below operating temp and the full power requested will accelerate the engine wear.
What's people's view on this or is it a case of these are co cars/ lease cars and it will never really be a first owner problem

And when I said queries, I meant questions as to what my car has as "standard". There seems to be a lot of questions in split folding seats and the I drive.
So now you’ve listed the extra’s ordered it will be clear what comes as standardEdited by sevensevenmx on Thursday 19th October 06:24

If it concerns you, you could choose to start the car on ICE and save the electric for later.
One thing - idling your car on the drive for a minute is doing no good unless you are still driving a Hillman Minx. The advice on modern cars (check your handbook) is to drive as soon as you possibly can. You generate more heat with the engine under load, not idling. I agree you don't want to be revving the nuts off it but drive off, don't wait.

Can anyone advise please if there is a 12v socket provided in the front arm rest? I was tempted to include the advanced Bluetooth option just for the wireless charging facility for the MSport Shadow Edition that I've ordered, but can't really justify the near on £400 extra! If there is a socket in the arm rest I can at least plug my mobile into that for charging..
There's a USB port which I think is 1A.Keggers said:

Does anyone know the answer to this or not hence overlooking the question.
I asked the dealer about this when I was buying, and the best they could offer was "don't worry about it, as you will have sold the car on in 3 years anyway"! Not exactly reassuring! Somebody said:
Great! Beware of the increased P11D value - the upgrades aren't really "free"!
I know but p11d wise it’s still a lot better than the A4 it replaces, I’m surprised how much better the LED headlights are, so happy with the additions. The split folding seats will help too as boot space is limited.Traffic has been heavy on the M5 so I’ll give it a good run on the weekend hopefully; but so far so good.

I'm happy with the additions too. Can't vouch for whether the LED headlights are "better" at illuminating the road as I don't have another 3 series to compared to, but the light is certainly whiter than halogens of my previous car, and I really envied for the LED corona DRLs, part of the optional LED headlights at £710 extra which I didn't spec when I ordered in early May. Chuffed that they were included as part of the upgrades from mid-July, but then found out that the list price had gone up £1,145 at the time of registration (early September) as well. Since then, folding rear seats are now standard on the Sport, but the list price has correspondingly increased by £325.
I don't find the boot space too bad, but the folding rear seats obviously adds to the versatility.

In my 530e, the electric motor assists the ICE sometime when it is fired up while driving. So the ICE is not given full load before it is warmed up a little at least. And yes, you should not warm the engine by idling...Donkeh101 said:
