This is obviously an important aspect of using the car economically, and one of the prime reasons for my specifying pro nav on my order.
Has anyone got a definitive guide to planning routes/return journeys that they have found to work consistently please?
From what I can tell, and from speaking to BMW the sat Nav has bugger all effect on use of battery. It’s the single biggest failure of the car, and quite a big one. It got to the stage where BMW refused to answer my questions about it. You simply can use the Sat Nav to preserve battery, and way points do not work Has anyone got a definitive guide to planning routes/return journeys that they have found to work consistently please?
once you have planned a route in pro nav you can then go into the 'route' option and click on add stop (or something like that)

Is this for multiple stops or an out and back route (home->meeting->home)?

Okay thanks, just to clarify - you can (somehow?) enter a return route (for, say going to a meeting then return to the start point, the you can add another 'stop'?once you have planned a route in pro nav you can then go into the 'route' option and click on add stop (or something like that)
Would the solution be to first enter the initial destination a couple of hundred yards from the start point, then as suggested above add the intended destination by adding the 'stop', thus creating the desired round trip?

My understanding of the system is that adding stops (intermediate destinations) like that will cause the car to still consider the current leg of that journey as your whole trip for battery usage planning.Would the solution be to first enter the initial destination a couple of hundred yards from the start point, then as suggested above add the intended destination by adding the 'stop', thus creating the desired round trip?
If you use the online journey planner you can do as you said and set the start and end close to each other, but then instead of adding a stop between them you can just 'click and drag' the route to include your intended destination. I haven't fully verified this alters the behaviour of the car but I believe it does.
Search for "BMW Routes", and the first result should be the one you want; there should then be a 'plan your own routes' link which will take you to the journey planner. At the top there's a 'login for connected drive users' link, and once logged in you should be able to send that trip to the car.
You can then somehow get at it from iDrive, I forget exactly where.

For others with a 330e on a PCH, do you know if I HAVE to replace with RFL tyres? Front's need replacing (21k so pretty good!) and normally I wouldn't bother with RFL again but don't want to get told off when I hand it back. It's not mentioned in the contract so I guess I'm safe? BMW won't care presumably.
Fronts already??Mines done 23,000 and has 4.5mm on the front and 4mm on the rear. The wheels are the 442M 19" with runflats.
Just did a 130 mile journey which usually takes 2hrs 20 but took 3hrs due to traffic. As it was return journey, I had no charge. Stuck it into eco pro and achieved 48mpg. I've done the same journey under similar circumstances and probably get around 40-42mpg.
I'm quite happy with that!

Interesting, I was quite happy with that. It's only low on the outside shoulders, I assumed it was from too much 'enthusiastic' cornering (I have a windy NSL commute) - the alignment's been checked.Mines done 23,000 and has 4.5mm on the front and 4mm on the rear. What pressure do you run at?

Got mines coming on Monday ! Cannot wait.
I haven't went for the home charger at the moment, just going to use the 3 pin. Can anyone tell me how long the charge cable is?
Not in any useful measurement, but I reverse into my garage, and park about half a metre from the back wall. There's a socket on that back wall and the cable is long enough to reach from there to the charge socket on the car, with not much to spare.I haven't went for the home charger at the moment, just going to use the 3 pin. I've just chased and I'm told that as I ordered an 'individual colour' the production is not scheduled until Feb for delivery in March, car was ordered over a month ago, and I was given the impression it was going to be 3 months!
I went for 'Fleet Cheap' White. Which may have helped. A mate in the know has suggested it will slip to March but they'll want it completed by 31/03 for this year's figures. Have that in my mind as a date so anything before is a bonusMoashie said:

Circa 5.5 metres. Not sure if you can make out where it is plugged in, the yellow changes to black and it’s on the central pillar etc . I haven't went for the home charger at the moment, just going to use the 3 pin. Can anyone tell me how long the charge cable is?

Ordered mine last week but still on had any confirmation (company Car through Inchcape).
My current company car is actually only due to be replaced in April so guessing it will slotted in to arrive then. No complaints from me as I never had any expectation for it to arrive any earlier and I’ll get it on an 18 plate as well

HI
Had my Chargemaster fitted yesterday in anticipation of the car arriving in December, although likely to be January at the earliest since the Lex update yesterday!
As I went for the untethered Chargemaster, where is the best place people have been buying charging cables from?
Thanks
Matt
You can get the BMW blue coiled ones off eBay for around GBP125, supplied by BMW dealers. Had my Chargemaster fitted yesterday in anticipation of the car arriving in December, although likely to be January at the earliest since the Lex update yesterday!

2.2-2.4 all round. What pressure do you run at?
Got a full maintenance lease through work including tyres, so not bothered if they were to wear quickly, but if it was my own car and tyres being upwards of £200 a corner, i'd be happy with the progress so far
