Fuel consumption update from me....

Started the day at 50% charge. Drove from Redditch to Dorking then back home to Chester.

Ran in SAVE mode down the M40, then AUTO in traffic on M25 and again once off the motorway.

Return journey was pretty traffic free all the way home. Avoided the M6 north of B’ham and headed up the A41 cross country to Chester.

Thanks for that. What menu do you go into to get that screen?

It’s trip computer, I have it saved as a shortcut on button 2.

For those earlier 330e leasers, what are you moving to next?

I'm REALLY struggling to find anything close to the 330e in spec/performance/value frown.

My current lease is 330e M-Sport + Pro Nav + Estoril Blue = 6+23 12kpa £294.

Occasional C350e deal pops up but by all accounts not as good. I'm loathed to go to the devils fuel but I drive about 15kpa so need some economy. My best bet at the moment is an approved used 640d and a bank loan frown.

While my 330e was in the dealer having it's brick charger replaced for three days(!) I was loaned a brand new 420d M Sport. While not a 3 series it gave me the chance to compare a couple of things that people often wonder about:-

1. HK Stereo against my standard affair - Nice loud sound from the HK, punchy base. Worth the upgrade for me as a company car driver? = Nope.
2. Touchscreen display - Revised interface but no new functionality that I could see. Touchscreen is a total waste of time. At more than an arms length away while I sit in my seat, what's the point!!
3, Sports seats - While you get that more wrapped around feeling, they are not comfy on long journeys under my thighs. Personal preference here though.
4. Damn I wish I had the auto high beam function - That's excellent! smile
5. LED lights - yes I wish I had those. Halogen are OK but the white light of LED is better without a doubt.
5. The 420d was a three door coupe thing. OMG those doors are looooooong!. Getting in and out gracefully was a real challenge. Sometimes just getting in an out at all would have been nice!

Does anyone know if/when BMW are going to release the touring version of the 530e?

Just a few things I've experienced over the last 6 months of owning my 330e.

1. I had to top the coolant up.
2. Tyre pressure sensors seems very sensitive.
3. Make sure you 'tick' the electric adjustable seats. For a car that costs over 40K it seems very mean of BMW not to include this in the comfort package.
4. 19' run flat tyres VERY LOUD!!!!!!
5. Auto full beam headlights are brilliant.
6. The car is quick........would still like more power. (but that's just me)

I love my car and it hasn't lost it's appeal over the last 6 months.

I haven't plugged mine in at all.....hangs head in shame, all about the BIK for me.

I think the sport seats are absolutely brilliant. Had them in my previous 3 series (covered in alcantara in that one) and people have often commented how comfy the seats are. As you say though, personal preferences.

That's interesting. I wonder why not. Perhaps because it might not get below the 50 g CO2 threshold?

I've thinking about replacing our family car and wondering what to get. Below 50 g CO2 is important for tax reasons. But I also don't want a diesel engine.

So that rules out the Q7 e-tron and the X5 40e.

And leaves pretty much only the XC90 T8 (or the XC60 T8).

I've never though I would own a Volvo, but what else is there?

Car was delivered yesterday and I’m absolutely delighted with it so far.

The charging cable that comes with it doesn’t reach my socket in the garage however I’ve used a heavy duty 13a extension that seems to charge the car no problem without overheating.

I’m having real issues with the bmw connected app on iPhone though. I’ve connected to the car however can’t see any analysis on fuel consumption from my journey to work this morning also the app states the car is still located at home. Anyone else had similar issues?
In the car somewhere you have to enable tracking. It is a tick box in one of the menus.

If you were considering the 330e then the Merc 350e isn’t too much of a departure and they also come in under 49g in the estate version (on 17” wheels).

Comes in C class or E class and worth a look. General spec is better than the beemer and refreshed more recently as well.

Exactly the same for me. I only got it as I needed a commuting car and something sensible at the time, but I absolutely love it. Wish I had gone for a 3 yr lease frown

Looking around for something similar and can't see anything. Think I need to go leftfield - current contenders are a Twisted Defender or a Cayman evil

What I'm really dreading is having to scrape a windscreen again...
