Had my 330e for a week now and very pleased. Two things I can’t fathom where someone may be able to help pls.

I’ve registered for connected drive and activated the service which works on a pc and android. However, everytime I get in the car I get the connected drive Activate Services now screen, is there any way of getting rid of this?

Second issue is I can’t find the detailed vehicle consumption/efficiency screen that is often screenshot posted on this forum. Where can I find it?

Thanks
I had the same with the connected drive, rang BMW and had to fill in some missing details then do an update and it never happened again, he said it was a change they had made and was common to have those calls in.

The newer I drive can’t produce that screen, I asked a few pages ago, the app is as good as you’ll get really

Apparently there is a new version of the Connected app on the iphone that can give more detailed E-mode efficiency stats and other new stuff - im on android so no idea what the new app looks like.

Thanks, the new IDrive screen for a trip is a downgrade IMO, pretty poor. The voice control is also very random for entering postcodes and lots of other commands to a level that I am starting to give up, I’m sure I am speaking in English!

Mine was due for delivery Monday next week however dealer have just informed me that BMW have instructed dealers to hold all stock due to "unexpected environmental issues"

Very frustrating as mine is at the dealers ready to go!

Anyone heard of this?

Hi all. I’ve had the car a week now and it’s everything I expected and more. Such an awesome combination of performance when you want it or economy when you don’t!!.

The I drive is not as straightforward as previous version. But worst of all is the connected drive service has been booked for a week but not yet uploaded? I’m missing most of the features on the app without this update. I’ve emailed BMW twice but not had a sensible answer (what’s the vin, scan the v5...) and got nowhere.

How long have other owners had to wait for this?

I was glad to get the split rear seats and pass through to luggage compartment and the door ‘clunk’ is far better than my previous F30. I could open and shut the doors all day long.

Lastly I’ve not yet given it the full beans, how many miles have others waited?

Cheers all

I quite like the Idrive, i think its better than the previous one.

Gave mine the beans pretty much 20 mins after it got delivered, have never done the whole bedding in thing with my last 6 brand new cars and non have had any ill effect from it, after 800 miles and in sport it really does shift, not quite as quick as my Cupra once going, but off the blocks its quite good, i miss the huge amounts of wheel spin i used to get from my 290BHP FWD car...... NOT!

Economy today on a brisk run up north in sport with the car in sport transmission for most if the drive too without charging returned 42 mpg over 80 miles , last time I came up here on exactly the same route it had full charge at home and I drove steadily in comfort mode and it returned 46mpg, short to medium journeys they are great, longer journeys i dont think you see the benefit of the hybrid apart from the speed.

Yeah, but not that useful apart from Combined Consumption - apparently I've averaged 59.7mpg for all trips. The electric distance driven doesn't always get recorded (shows - - miles) and "personal best" electric distance driven keeps resetting.

How long did you wait for connected drive to fully activate please?

Also where’s the best source for spare charger lead....?

My connecteddrive registered quite quickly (3 weeks ago) - I think once its been enabled in the car its a case of setting up a account on the web then putting in the VIN number to tie them together.

As for a charging cable - Ebay has plenty of genuine BMW 5m type 2 cables for around £125. comes with a nice storage bag and its kinda self-coiling too.
This is the one i bought...

BMW cable is much more sturdy than the other I see in my work charging area, worth the money, it can take the higher charging rate too if and when you get a car that take it.

You forgot the gloves you get with it laugh

Lol! Yep loving the gloves. What about a 3 pin cable as supplied? I don’t see it online.

Thanks

After 22 months and 44,000 trouble free miles I now have an orange engine light on. Quick visit to garage in Perth at 4pm , they had a look on the key but nothing apparent so the lease company are trying to get it booked in for a full diagnostic.
They say if it’s orange then it’s ok to drive, red means pull over and call out BMW assist., so fingers crossed.
Still love the car. Had a full set of tyres and the rears are down to. 3mm so will need replacing again soon.
Hopefully it won’t be anything too sinister, but they obviously aren’t too concerned as the appt. has been booked for 23 April

Arrived at a hotel today to meet some colleagues, proper oldy worldy place, park round the back and there are 2 Tesla charging stations, I ask if I have to have a Tesla to use them, she looks at me blank, I said don’t worry and proceeded to the bar area, old lady comes over and said someone parks a BMW there sometimes.... didn’t need a second invite...

Got me thinking though, what is the protocol with the Tesla chargers at places like this that are unlikely ever to see one, or in fact why would Tesla but 2 chargers in a hotel that is way off the beaten track in Rugby?

Did it actually take a charge as the corona ring is still white and not blue?

It should charge, they are just Tesla brand chargers, they should charge any car they fit.

Yeah it took about 8 - 10 seconds to start and when I got back and opened the boot it paused for some reason, not sure why

Not quite true.

The white signed charger should charge any Type 2.

The red signed charger to the right is Tesla only.

I did wonder what the red and white differences were
