This can't just be my driving as my wife mentioned it too last night but does anyone else's wheelspin a fair bit in this damp cold weather?? I'm not talking fast and furious style but when pulling out of junctions etc.

Must be the electric torque?
Yes we have it too, really noticeable on our gravel drive it’s actially quite diffcult to move off without spraying the house...I believe the electric motor is responsible

Can't do the longevity of the tyres much good!

I got my car back today. Charger controller was replaced, as was the starter motor under the recall. Also a software update apparently.

Yes had exactly this. It’s the starter motor recall that’s open and a software update.
GOt my car back from the garage today. They said that there was 2 software updates for my car one for the battery management and the other for the control of the motor and engine. The updates apparently resolved the faults. So far so good. I had to redo all my bimmercodes. A small price to pay wink

I don’t find the tyre use too bad, better than my previous Audi. I’ve changed tyres once so far in 62k

After getting my car back with the software updates carried out. I've noticed that the eco Pro graphic has been removed. Now after selecting eco Pro mode only the wording eco Pro appears. Anyone else have the same change?
I think it might be like this when driving at night. I just checked it today and the graphic is as normal.

Think I might have been daft here...

I got an OLEV grant 2 years ago for my leased 330e. (Company registered owner/keeper, me as sole driver)

Recently I bought the car in my name and have moved house. I didn’t even think about taking the charge point.

I now am not sure if I can apply for another OLEV grant?

Thanks

No, unless you have another car that needs charging.

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme provides a grant of up to £500 for
individuals who have taken keepership of a new or second hand eligible electric
vehicle on or after 1 October 2016 as long as they have not claimed against
the previous chargepoint schemes or can evidence keepership of two eligible
electric vehicle

I've got two cracks in my windscreen. Both around 15 inches long, arch shaped and just a few inches over the air vents.

I'm guessing this is because when I pre-condition the car from the app it's sending a lot of hot air onto the cold windcsreen.

It would be great if we could control the temperature from the app and start the air flow cold, gradually increasing the temperature.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I can’t see the heater cracking your windscreen, there are so many cars with pre heating and much colder weather around the world than we will ever see. It’s likely the screen had been stressed or chipped and the heat or cold could then crack the screen.

On another topic is anyone else finding the app really slow to sync lately?

I do agree with you actually and maybe it was chipped beforehand. I hadn't seen any chips though.

But yes, I'm finding the app slower recently.

I'm finding the app is super annoying more often than not.
From what I hear, the iOS app is better than the Android one I use.
I frequently find the website works fine, but the app doesn't, suggesting it is not a server issue, but purely an app one.
Are you both on Android?

No I’m on ios and the app is so slow. It’s actually quicker for me to go downstairs and press the button on the key and come back up again than the use the app to set pre conditioning. Takes ages to sync and won’t send any instruction to the car until it has completed the sync.

Not used the web portal tbh.

Just had another 4 tyres on mine. Didn’t feel great coming home on new rubber.

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I just picked up a 330e and I can't charge using the portable charger. It is showing the lights in the video below even when not plugged into the car. I have tried it on two different locations. Any ideas?

It worked for a few seconds once or twice on the car but then flashed the same light you can see in the video.

Assuming that the socket works fine with other mains devices, looks like as issue with the portable charger.

I have a different shaped, maybe later version branded as Delphi rather than BMW, and in the manual for the charger and on the back of the body of the charger itself is a table that lets you work out the issue. If you check which lights are on, off, or flashing against that table then it might give you a slight clue as to the nature of the fault.

If the car is under warranty from BMW, just take the charger back and get them to test / replace.

Hope this helps.

Sounds very similar to me, might I recommend using the Sat Nav to enter your destination before setting off. This should stop you having to force Max EDrive as it will know already when to use it.
Just got a new to me, 2016 330e. Still trying to figure out the modes.

Max e-drive pottering around locally.

But I still can't figure out the connection between the sat nav and auto e-mode. I set the sat-nav and once it got me home on a very low battery - 3% - with a warning to recharge the hybrid battery. Other times I've had it kick in the petrol engine when I was 1/4 mile from my house with 9% left in the battery.

Does the car mode matter - sport/comfort/eco?
Or does the sat nav mode matter - fast/eco. ( eco added 30% to my journey time, and looked more like the shortest route so don't want to use it ).

So does auto e-mode use the destination regardless of any other settings? and am I correct that if if am doing home-dest-home with no charging at destination I should set home as the destination, and my real destination as a waypoint?

I looked at eco mode on the sat nav, but it added 40 minutes to a 2hr journey compared to fast so I tend not to use it.

Thanks

I've had my 330e for two years. It has the Business Nav which is supposed to do what you explain above. TBH I just can't be bothered to do all that for minimal gain. I average 59 MPG in my usage pattern. The most I do is run with the Climate off, but only if I am on my own, otherwise it steams up inside. My last tank got me 518 miles.

Seriously, relax.Get in drive it, enjoy it.

I had a brakes scare last night. Coming off a slip road up hill to a roundabout, slightly damp road. I'd driven 30 miles but probably not touched the (real) brakes and the car had been standing for 2 days.

I was going steady (around 40mph), cruising up the hill to the roundabout. Foot on brake (late), the pedal felt solid and it just wasn't slowing down. I pressed hard and could feel the ABS juddering. It wasn't icy and I've never experienced anything similar.

I've owned the car (2016 330e Sport) for 3 months/3000 miles and I've found the brakes to be underwhelming at the best of times, but nothing like that.

Has anyone had anything similar? It is going in for another minor fault on Monday so I will ask them to check the brakes.

My lease 330e is now for sale, £38K list and now £18.5K after 2 years and 27000 miles. I have no idea how lease companies make any money, given I was paying £360 a month for it on full maintenance.

Anyway - if anyone wants a problem free one careful owner car have a look

https://www.motors.co.uk/car-51478824/?i=0&m=s...
Lease companies don’t pay anything like list price. I received the invoice to my lease co for my car in error.

List £39,400. Paid £27,230. That includes the govt grant.
My first post whilst watching this forum since very early 2016 so apologies for the late reply - but I concur, I had to sign a form for the lease company to get the £5K rebate - almost bog standard 330e Sport with leather. Cost price, just over £22,000 plus VAT - that comes to £26640. They can also right of depreciation and other tax perks. So I was a bit offended after 18 months when I was offered to by the car off them for £21,500. Trust me, they make money!
