Sound more like tires than brakes, if the abs is kicking I would presume the car is sensing your wheels locking up.

I had a brakes scare last night. Coming off a slip road up hill to a roundabout, slightly damp road. I'd driven 30 miles but probably not touched the (real) brakes and the car had been standing for 2 days.
I was going steady (around 40mph), cruising up the hill to the roundabout. Foot on brake (late), the pedal felt solid and it just wasn't slowing down. I pressed hard and could feel the ABS juddering. It wasn't icy and I've never experienced anything similar.
I've owned the car (2016 330e Sport) for 3 months/3000 miles and I've found the brakes to be underwhelming at the best of times, but nothing like that.
Has anyone had anything similar? It is going in for another minor fault on Monday so I will ask them to check the brakes.

Sounds very similar to me, might I recommend using the Sat Nav to enter your destination before setting off. This should stop you having to force Max EDrive as it will know already when to use it.
Just got a new to me, 2016 330e. Still trying to figure out the modes.Max e-drive pottering around locally.
But I still can't figure out the connection between the sat nav and auto e-mode. I set the sat-nav and once it got me home on a very low battery - 3% - with a warning to recharge the hybrid battery. Other times I've had it kick in the petrol engine when I was 1/4 mile from my house with 9% left in the battery.
Does the car mode matter - sport/comfort/eco?
Or does the sat nav mode matter - fast/eco. ( eco added 30% to my journey time, and looked more like the shortest route so don't want to use it ).
So does auto e-mode use the destination regardless of any other settings? and am I correct that if if am doing home-dest-home with no charging at destination I should set home as the destination, and my real destination as a waypoint?
I looked at eco mode on the sat nav, but it added 40 minutes to a 2hr journey compared to fast so I tend not to use it.
Thanks
Hi guys. Getting a 67 plate M Sport with a new job next Friday and have been reading these posts for about 6 weeks or so.
Few questions.
Is there any procedure to do with the app in case the previous driver has still got it on their phone?
I plan to charge at home most nights as I want to drive on electric for the heck of it but have a couple of cars in the driveway and this will be at the back as I’m first out so will need to use an extension lead, will this be ok?
What version of I drive will it have?
I believe it’s a M Sport Shadow edition, what’s the Shadow all about?
Any thing I need to be aware of etc?
Few questions.

I'd suggest you check this with BMW.Jamin00 said:

They don't recommend you use an extension lead for safety reasons. From memory the extension cable must be a minimum of 13A continuous and the cores must be 1.5mm at least, so an ordinary extension cable will be not up to scratch and could be a fire risk due to overheating in the cable and plugs.Jamin00 said:

That'll depend on when it was last serviced.Jamin00 said:

It's a trim - so sportier drive, 19" wheels, M Sport suspension, etc.Jamin00 said:

They're great cars - just take your time to enjoy it and learn about it and post any questions on here. Thanks for the reply.
I’ll check with BM should I have any issues with the app.
I’m quite looking forward to it tbh but the main thing I need to know is about the extension lead so I’ll bare that in mind. I’ll also speak to a friend who is a sparky and mention what you said and see if he knows anything about this also.
Thanks

Think of it as a Black Pack. I think the main points are black grill, black mirror caps, privacy glass, 19” Alloys, M Sport brakes, H&K stereo and high beam assist.
I know it’s got the best stereo option, privacy glass and black surrounds, 19in rims and the brakes but not sure on the other bits.Think of it as a Black Pack. I think the main points are black grill, black mirror caps, privacy glass, 19” Alloys, M Sport brakes, H&K stereo and high beam assist.
Not long too wait till I find out can I find out the options with the reg number of do you need the vin for that?

You can get a spec from the VIN but as per the post above you can see what the Shadow gets. Not long too wait till I find out can I find out the options with the reg number of do you need the vin for that?
The other main options to look for are Heated Seats, Pro Nav, Electric Seats, Reversing Camera, Folding Mirrors, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assistance, Sunroof, Adaptive Lights, Individual Leather, M Performance Body Styling and I am sure a few more.
Car in for repairs today - Fuel flap is failing to open 75% of the time (yay manual release!) and DAB radio drops out for 10 second periods even when stationary.
Car was in for service in October when it had a recall done for the starter motor and coding for the high voltage hybrid system.
Got told today that there's another software update for the hybrid system and also engine electronics.
2 days to fix the radio and the fuel flap. Seems a bit long.

So for reference if anyone starts having fuel flap issues BMW just replaced a fuel pressure sensor to fix this on mine.
And now the cabin and boot stink of petrol. Drive with all the windows down stink. If it persists tomorrow I’m going to swing by and ask why.
Edit: fuel stink persists the next day after 8 hours with the windows down. All clothes in there smell of fuel, kids car seats smell of fuel. Can't drive the car without the windows down unless you really really like the smell of petrol.

"How lng does it normally take the pre conditioning to get up to say 22 dog from a freezing morning?
And then on the reverse, how long to cool it down on a red hot summer day?"
If you are plugged into a charger, and know what time you are leaving then just set the departure time in the car or on the app and click the 'climatisation' button just below and the car will take care of it.
However, if you are going to use the key or the 'Climatise Now' button on the app then about 20mins should be enough time to melt any ice on the windows and warm up the interior.
Have never used climatisation to cool the car, but suspect it would be around 20mins too.
Hope this helps.

Nice car, same wheels as mine lol. I found when the weather was very cold earlier last month I would use the climatise feature for 15 mins and when I went out to the car all the frost had gone and the car was nice and toasty inside. Great car, hope you like it.Couple of questions and no doubt more to follow.
