Yep, the trick is not to push it at the edge but a bit further in. A firm prod is required though. Also now that the light ring is gone and replaced with a just a small LED panel, plugging in where it is dimly lit is literally a stab in the dark!
Thank you very much works a treat! IanJ9375 said:

Bit of an update on what could potentially be a right pain to sort....
330 goes in for 40k service in December, come out nice and sparkly but stinks, and I mean vile, thought it was just the jet washing so over Christmas it was not used as we tend to use the family wagon for kid duties.
During Christmas I opened it and nearly got knocked out with the smell, it was vile, like a bottle of milk had been thrown over the interior and left in a sauna, checked everywhere and cant seen any spillage, we tend to not use this car for any shopping or things so am pretty confident it not milk, but cleaned it and had it valeted and no trace of spillages has been found.
Fast forward 3 weeks and the car still stinks, looking in the boot there appears to be liquid under the hybrid battery, I've got as much up as I can see and the smell is still there, i have taken all carpets, side fittings and boot cover from the car and the smell is originating from the battery still.
BMW have said its milk that has spilled, its a company car and I don't pay anything for repairs so would be straight up with them if it was as I just want it sorted, in the old days you would just pull the spare wheel out and give it a wipe, now this has got to go into BMW to have the battery removed to see if there is any spillage or battery leakage underneath, complete faff really, i'm hoping to get sorted next week as the smell is getting stronger and its not even summer.
Will update if its not spillage anyway!!

One very cool thing about the 330e (F30) which I was reminded of today after a few hours of spirited driving down some country lanes - drive fast, break hard and the battery recharged itself to 97%! -
without being in 'save battery' mode which is unavailable when driving with transmission in sports mode

If I drive mine hard for more than ten minutes in sport mode it does about 15mpg without being in 'save battery' mode which is unavailable when driving with transmission in sports mode
I'm thinkinig of going with a square tire setup on my F30 33e (255/45/18 Front and 255/40/18 rear), Probably Michelin PS4 (non-RTF).
I'm guessing wider tires on the front will improve breaking performance, but will the extra traction (and rolling resistence?) reduce my electric range? Did anyone try that? Thank you

Has anyone placed an order for a 330e in the last 6 weeks or so? What sort of leadtimes are getting, i attempted to order one prior to lockdown, but it didnt actually get ordered till june.
Ive finally got confirmation that its been ordered, but the del date is december! my current car runs till September, thankfully i can stay in it for another few months till the 330e arrives, i was looking forward to the BIK savings lol.

I have just been notified this by my fleet company: this isn’t an official recall notification, this is just a notice to let drivers know that in the near future a recall will be sent to you. BMW is still working on a program to recall all these vehicles, so in the meantime if you could please just follow the safety precautions
The make and model of vehicle affected is: BMW 330e Saloon 2.0 Phev
The instructions received from BMW for drivers to follow are shown below:
1. AVOID charging the vehicle using the charge cable.
2. Leave the car in auto comfort mode for every journey, avoiding use of battery save mode.
3. AVOID shifting gears using the steering wheel paddles (if fitted) or manually by pushing the gear selector to the left.
BMW have advised that they will shortly be issuing communications directly to customers as a notification message, following the above simple guidance points can be used safely and until BMW are in a position to communicate a service solution.
Has anyone else been made aware of the above?
