How much was it and how much did the government grant cover of the cost, if you don't mind me asking? Thinking of getting one, as my boss won't allow me to charge at work Julie Smith

Think it was £250 or maybe £300, unsure if changes in grants mean it's now more money. Mine included approx 15 m of armoured cabling from fuse box to charge port too, so depending on your installation it may be differentjeeves14 said:

I wouldn't go spending too much money Jeeves, a regular plug socket in my garage works great for me.Your not going to see any benefit with a fast charger as the difference is 3.5 hrs on regular and 2.5 hrs on a fast, I'm assuming your cars always at your house overnight anyway.
Remember you also need a different lead for a fast charger, Mode 3

Thanks for the advice, might end up just putting a socket outside by a mate who happens to be an electricianYour not going to see any benefit with a fast charger as the difference is 3.5 hrs on regular and 2.5 hrs on a fast, I'm assuming your cars always at your house overnight anyway.

This thread makes me sad.
I was thinking I definitely wanted one of these as my next company car, but it was mysteriously missing from our list of available cars. Turns out the order time is currently standing at 12 months, and we're not allowed anything over 6!!!
Hopefully, by the time my current car actually comes up for replacement at the end of the year, this will have changed.

Good news!!! For those with Lex orderers with July estimates it looks like we're looking at sooner rather than later. My status has gone from 27th July to delivered to dealer today. The countdown begins.....
ooo - that's exciting!! when did you order your car? I ordered in early Feb and my ETA has always been 7/7 and not moved from that....did your status on lex itself change, or did you just get the good news out of the blue?I'm delighted and confused in equal measures. According to the dealer production was scheduled for 20 May. Using the bimmer.work tracker, I found that it went into production on 18 May, early in the morning. When I checked with genius late last night I got an email back at 10pm with a status of 9000 - departed the plant with a delivery date w/c 6 June, presumably to the dealer, not necessarily to me. Could it be finished in a day?? I Have emailed them again just to double check that they used the correct order number. If they are right, happy days as I wasn't expecting it until w/c 23 June
Do any of you actually get through to bmw genius? Live chat is always "busy" when I try.
EDIT - Bmw have told me current status is 5505 and that the car is expected at the dealership for week 25
For any comparisons I ordered 14th Jan but order wasn't progressed until 25 Jan.
330e Sport (couldn't choose m sport)
18" 397 wheels
Leather seats
Privacy glass
Shadow black trim
LED headlights

Hi... Ordered the car 12/1 with a initial eta middle of May, this very quickly got put back to the end of July. On the Lex site every week I got at update saying "order progressed" this never changed the delivery date. Checked yesterday and it said car in stock ..... Contact to arrange delivery. Just had the call this morning and it's set for the 31st. Well chuffed.... Think they might err on the side of caution. All a bit sudden though but I'm not complaining.

Can any of you 330E owners confirm you can pre-heat the car on a winter's morning for de-icing windows?
It seems most PHEVs can, but I'd appreciate confirmation. Thanks.
Yes you can. It seems most PHEVs can, but I'd appreciate confirmation. Thanks.
A) Manually via the keyfob
B) Set the schedule as you exit the car in iDrive
C) Schedule / Manual from the remote App.

Thanks for the advice, might end up just putting a socket outside by a mate who happens to be an electrician
Do you have the car yet?The way it works best for me is to connect it inside the garage, I just took a small nick out the floor so the door closes fine, that way I just coil the car end up on the garage door handle when I leave the house, come back and quick plug back in takes seconds, because it's connected inside the garage there's no need to access it to turn it off and nobody can tamper with it either.
If you install a socket outside the garage only the car end secures in to the car, the other end is just a plug so it can be tampered with.
Might not work for everyone but it's ideal for me, Ive been doing it this way for 2 months now and just makes the whole charging process so easy. I actually bought a Roku box but then returned it after doing it this way

Thanks for the tip, however unfortunately we don't have a garage anymore as it was converted to a study a few years back . Only options I have are either to put a 3 pin socket or a rolec unit.
