When I buy a house it's the garage that I look at first. Current one had a 1.5x width 2x length garage for the 911, 2x ducatis and a GSXR750 together with assorted woodworking machinery and tools.

Sure the house needed kitchen, bathrooms, windows, replumbing, etc, etc. But the important bit was almost right.

First job was attend to the windows and doors and damp issue and once that was sorted I took a look at the house wink

I think most singal garages today won't be big enough to park in it and GET OUT..! I have a large garage but still have to park carefully so I can get out,the door span is all or nothing...! I charge it when in there which I wouldn't fancy doing on the street...?

Have to admit when I was looking for my first place I was primarily looking for a garage with a house (or in the case of my first buy, a bunglow) attached which the full intention of using it as a garage. It just so happened that I also got a drive that I can, in theory, keep another two cars on (though affording a third car could be a bit tricky). The Rover goes in the garage, getting the Alfa in is a non starter (six inches wider) even to work on out of the elements (I'd never get it in through the door).

And me. Might be an ageing E36 3 Series but the garage protects it from the elements and helps me avoid 10 minutes of de-icing every morning at this time of year.

And me - auto door with opener in house. Press button, close front door, walk down steps (unlocking car on the way down), get in car, start car, move out, press button to close garage door as I go up the drive, turn out onto road. Not difficult. Reverse and repeat.

Alternately, walk out of front door, hop in car and drive away. Much less faff!

I do every night. At £100k I'm not going to leave it parked outside when I have a garage to park it in! smile
