Bit of an aside, but you have clearly invested quite a lot of time and effort to create your aggregating web service showing information on all the cars for sale in one place.Out of curiosity, can I ask is it a hobby or do you have plans to use this commercially in some way?

Your website is awesome. I found it a while ago and then lost it and hadn't been able to find it since until coming across this thread. Not a great anecdote but just wanted to give thanks
Must be the domain, I’m usually in the top 10 in google for ‘Tesla uk’ but bmw doesn’t really figure at all. But I appreciate the commentsYikes - they're keen to sell this one

10k off in the last 2 weeks, virtually delivery miles, 2018 (but not LCI) car and £58k

Jeez, £100 a mile depreciation. Who in their right mind pays a £100k for a car and then sells it on a year later after driving less than 500 miles. Crazy world.
No one paid £100 a mile. Calm yourself down. These cars are now selling at 58k for a new one and I am quite tempted now by one of these as opposed to the 15k mile 15 plates. It is just a question of how much of a bath am I prepared to take?

That’s my worry, as well as the price drop, looking over some of the other cars you can see how long they seem to take to sell. Maybe they’re just not good sellers in winter, we’ll seeThese cars are now selling at 58k for a new one and I am quite tempted now by one of these as opposed to the 15k mile 15 plates. I am very tempted by that car.
Can someone give me some opinions on what they are like to drive?
At the moment I have a BMW m240, a 595 abarth and a 2006 Boxster S. The abarth is going anyway.
I love the m240 as it is compact and quick - although maybe a bit soulless on occasion. If I was to change, this would be traded in against an i8.
I’ve had the m240 for 2.5 years now and fancy a change.
I think I need to test drive an i8 to properly see but any opinions appreciated.

If you believe they are the work of the devil then you hate them.
I had one for 4 days and loved it. I see no reason not to have one, especially at £58k.

I had the opportunity to spend a few days with an i8 and it did not work for me. I couldn't get my head around the synthesized engine note, and the interior, designed to be lightweight presumably, felt cheap to me. Handling was good but I just did not find the car was as exciting as it looks from the outside. Also not a fan of scissors doors. Very subjective call and you are absolutely right to try one..

If you don't then you'll hate it, most don't get them. I do - had mine for over 3 years and wouldn't change for anything ... and I paid over £100k for mine.At 58k for a nearly new one they are an absolute steal. Will probably become a future-modern classic in 20 years.
I've said this before on some other thread but I loved the i8 I had for a long term test.
However I didn't buy it because the windows don't go all the way down...I enjoy driving with the windows open and my arm on the ledge.
Not being able to do it made the car feel claustrophobic.
Real shame cause otherwise I thought it was just brilliant.

For me, the i8 is a compromise car.
It's so utterly amazing it should just about be the best car on the planet.
But there are just too many compromises. They are quite literally everywhere.
Same as loads of old classic cars however, the road to modern classic is paved by misunderstood at birth cars!

On its compromises? Where do I begin??
It’s an eco sports car that isn’t that eco or sporting!
It could be tuned to be a much better drivers car but that would hurt its eco credentials.
It could be much more economic, but then it would lose out in its performance pretence.
It’s got the pretence of four seats but the rears are unusable, so you’re carrying around a large chunk of wasted space.
It is, in other words, neither one thing nor another. I’ve often wondered why they’ve never done an out and out performance version of it, an i8M so to speak.
