Tesla Model X - a hit in the UK?

I suspect the limiting factor is how much current each cell or blade is delivering. A bigger capacity battery means you can deliver more overall power, without additional strain on each cell (so less risk of damage). I don't think its marketing, more maintaining the battery life against warranty claims
Its a bit like a remap I suppose, turn your turbo up to 11 and your ICE car will be faster...but bits of it might expire very quickly.
It's exactly this. The Ludicrous mod was the introduction of a higher rated fuse. Its a bit like a remap I suppose, turn your turbo up to 11 and your ICE car will be faster...but bits of it might expire very quickly.

Quite frankly, if you're not able to open and close the door of a car, gullwing or otherwise, without chopping your fingers or your kids' fingers off without an electronic safety gizmo, then you've got absolutely no place being behind the steering wheel of anything heavier or more powerful than a plastic pushalong Noddy car in the first place

My mate and I are going for an X demo in Cambridge on Monday. We went into the showroom yesterday and he took one look and said I am going to get one, he seems serious. Anyone got a code for the £750 off in case he does the deed?
Here you gohttps://www.tesla.com/referral/jon833
I'd look at some of their inventory stock as there are pre registered cars which include free supercharging and possibly beat the VED. There's more info on the options etc here:

Make sure you have a good play with the front doors. Trust me once your use to them opening/closing by themselves 'normal' cars where you have to physically open/close a door by hand seems so crude..... Than there's that massive windscreen. I honestly cannot see my self owning a car without powered doors or that huge windscreen ever again.... Oh and when you first get into the car every morning it displays your calendar events for that day, every time you put the car it to park the doors menu comes up automatically....its small details like that I only noticed after owning for a while, only it's small details but often puts a smile on my face.
Enjoys the testdrive am sure your love it .

You seem easily pleased.
What can say I like to keep things simple, all it takes is an all electric 6 seater SUV with falcon wing doors, 0-60 performance the same as my old 350Z, powered doors, big windscreen, always on internet connection, built in Spotify and am happy .Oddly for the amount I think it is great value ........... compared to a lot of the premium stuff I have bought in the past ... after a month no issues and for normal transport I could not imagine going back to the old way , it makes no sense .
Still will drive the Ferrari's just have the old school feel and noise but do not have to live with it .

stunning cars, especially from a performance point of view,
followed one down a slip road not long ago in a 350bhp 500lbs/ft diesel X5 and it walked away from us literally just picked up its skirt and away, now i'm not too clued up on what model it was but i'm assuming to be one of the top end p90 p100s but if thats the mid gear grunt they have i'd have one in a heartbeat

During our test drive (P90D) the mrs planted her right foot when I was not expecting and it easily had the shove of my old RS6 without question. The fact the RS would have needed a second to change down gear, build boost and then go it would have probably already been on its toes and pulling away from the RS so the fact your X5 was having trouble does not shock me at all, could have probably been a 75D tbh.
Runs out of puff around 90-100mph though and starts to slow down quite a bit. Unless you live in Germany I suspect that's not an issue though.

Thanks, he bought a white 75D with small wheels and autopilot no other options. I had a test drive too, and it was very impressive. Loved the screen, a falcon door was groaning when it shut and randomly bonging during my test . It is very chuckable, and that was just the normal car not a P. Lovely. I have used autopilot before, but not in traffic and the car braking and stopping was very unnatural at first, but suddenly all the stress of driving was gone. Fit and finish was excellent, no pressure from the sales chap.
Thanks for the code Johnny. They offered a very low £24k for a 2015 Evoque he has to get rid of, private sale should get 29/30 but its just selling the damn thing I suspect it may be tricky.
I would perhaps have paid for the self driving autopilot now as it goes from £3k to £4k if you wait, but he decided not to as he might actually enjoy driving it.

Great - was it a custom order or did they have one knocking around? AP will only get better for him over time and if it's a custom order, should be much further on.https://www.tesla.com/referral/jon833

We looked at the cars they had at the factory I think, cancelled orders, there was a black one but he wanted white so ordered for it to be built and delivered in August.. The salesman was very keen to sell a new one, I didn't get too involved at this point. They do a great coffee though. lost in espace]eres Johnny said:

Spec sounds almost the same as our car, you can reassure him about the lack of AP. I've done 3400 miles now in our base spec X in 2months. Most of those miles have been on twisty B roads and the X has been an absolutely joy. Not the most engaging to drive compared to my old DC2 Teg, but for a 2.5 ton 6 seater family wagon its mighty impressive. https://www.tesla.com/referral/jon833

Am sure AP is great on M-way runs, but if your not taking the X on roads like these than your missing out....
If your friend didn't get free supercharging, tell him to council his order and order again using the code, my link now gives free supercharging as well as 750 off (just check they've not done a price rise in the process)
Update.. I think they need to talk to Tesla as they may be retro applying this to all existing owners.

Thanks very much Johnny, I just sent message to him to give Tesla Cambridge a call. I found a facebook referral page that says the referral includes free supercharging. I am surprised the sales guy didn't know about this. Update.. I think they need to talk to Tesla as they may be retro applying this to all existing owners.
