Morning all,

I've got a C350e arriving next month. We're going camping in France in the summer, so I was wondering what would happen if I plug it into the power supply at the campsite, given that this is only 10 amp.

Would the car just take longer to charge, not charge at all, or start tripping switches on the campsite?

Depends on how the wiring is set up

It could charge slowly or trip the lot just after the handshake

If you try to plug it in to the hook-up socket at the pitch, it'll probably just trip.

Talk to the campsite management in advance, and they might well make arrangements to plug in at reception or elsewhere.

I'm not sure the French have embraced the whole EV thing like we have! - suspect they haven't thrown the same tax incentives at the cars and charging.

I've charged at a few sites but did have to dial it down to about 6A or the breakers will trip..
