^ Just had workshop call yesterday.

The initial impact must have been harder than I remember, rear subframe is cracked and the whole rear chassis has been compromised.

Essentially its a write off!!

I think the idiot who hit me has got away with a dangerous driving charge. On the scene because the Tesla took the impact so well I don't think the anyone, police included realised the speed he must have been going to hit me.

Any other car I think would have rolled when it hit the kerb, and probably ended up in the garden of the house next to the street. I'm really glad my daughter wasn't in the car. If she had been, and we had rolled I don't even want to think what would have happened.

I'm 100% wanting to be back in another Tesla, too many idiots on the road these days. If there is another crash coming my way there isn't another car I would rather be in.

I'll reiterate, I'm glad your safe.

I live in the US and a couple of the big insurers have put up rates for Teslas in the last month or so. The justification was the repair costs after minor shunts were significantly higher than equivalent (presumably ICE) cars.

I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly and you are back in a Model X soon.
