The S/X has DAB, the only time I've used it in the last 3 years is when the father-in-law was in the car and we were waiting for the ladies to finish shopping, the test match was on and I couldn't' get it to stream properly on my phone due to poor reception, so instead we listened to 5 Live Xtra.
I found listening to Cricket on DAB just as exciting as watching it on TV .
Indeed most sane people would just hook up their phones and listen to anything they want steaming through the phone.I found listening to Cricket on DAB just as exciting as watching it on TV .
Internet streaming in car I haven't tried, but 'hooking up the phone' is clearly not what most sane people want to do.
Why would you want to faff about with phone and press buttons to unlock, open app and so on. 5 min journey to pickup the missus from the train station and you want to spend an additional 5 mins just sat in car

Football is the most popular sport, and it's in AM which which rubbish, so imagine dab is popular.

Hooking up a phone is really popular because of Apple carplay.... slight problem there...Internet streaming in car I haven't tried, but 'hooking up the phone' is clearly not what most sane people want to do.

Sport pretty much as to be on DAB as AM is rubbish and Streaming regionally encoded content blocked. Plus havent the BBC stopped all streaming other than through their own app?

For things on their phone, yes. For dab no.
What are you talking about? Why would people go on their phone to receive radio?
Ie no one but you.
If radio is built in, it's simple hardware and ultra reliable.

The only people who think Dab or other radio incar is superior than via a phone connection is people who think technology works perfectly everytime, phone signal is perfect, and that Bluetooth works perfectly every time and so on.

What car doesn’t have radio built in?Ie no one but you.

Why are you asking me.Edited by JD on Wednesday 18th December 11:55
The debate started off from bmw claiming no dab in testla and others on here saying these things are not needed due to phones.
So if you want to start another question then don't ask me
