Anyone been for a test drive in a Jaguar i-Pace yet?

Simo,
How much space is there in the rear seats, specifically in terms of width? Could three teenagers sit there comfortably for over an hour?
What sort of suspension does yours have? If bog standard steel springs, how's the ride?
It's pretty big inside, even in the back. I'd certainly have no guilty feelings throwing three teenagers in there for an hour or more. Sure you could find out online but want me to measure it?How much space is there in the rear seats, specifically in terms of width? Could three teenagers sit there comfortably for over an hour?

Ride is crashy/poor to be honest but suspect that's because this one has bigger wheels. I've also come into this from a Volvo V90 which is way more bargy. In the EV stakes, it's not a million miles away from an X or S with bigger wheels.
Not sure exactly what spec it is (demos usually come with a spec sheet but this one doesn't), I've asked and will put it on here when I get it.
It says SE on it and then has a few bits that I think are extras (wheels, pan roof etc).
Will change the screen settings and take a picture when I pop out for lunch, and also check out the central heating!!
No need to measure the rear space but thank you for the offer! Your first hand perception of it is what I wanted.

Has anyone driven an I-Pace on 18" wheels?
If so, feedback on the ride, noise and handling would be welcome.
Ride is every so slightly softer and the steering response is slightly dulled, but it massively depends on what you're sensitive to. I personally like a ride that's quite stiff on primary (big inputs) but then good on secondary isolation (small inputs). The I Pace is quite soft in primary, but then inevitably the bigger wheels make for a more abrupt secondary ride. If so, feedback on the ride, noise and handling would be welcome.
I certainly wouldn't describe either the air, or coil car as 'stiff', but on bigger wheels especially, you can certainly hear/feel more of the smaller sharper inputs at lower speed. With such a low centre of gravity, it's also quite stiff in roll, so you notice the car moves more laterally when driving along something like country A road.
It's a personal preference thing really. Tesla's are much tighter in their primary control, but softer in their bushings, which gives more isolation (both from a handling and ride point of view). Different things annoy/please different people, but you're not going to get in an I Pace and be bounced down the road like you are in a Focus RS!

Seems a common theme and a shame that android auto isn't available.
It is on the latest software.I got my (shortish) test drive this afternoon. It was a First Edition model, so had all the toys and a the mega wheels. With the suspension in the comfort setting I thought the ride was OK. In Dynamic mode it was definitely crashey.
I really liked it although it was lacking some of the noise drama (I do have an XFR-S, admittedly) and I can imagine that some people could find it quite one-dimensional. It does go like a scalded cat in the 'mid-range' though. I think there could be a few people getting points on their licenses because it really does go between the main speed increments very quickly and you have to watch what you are doing very carefully.
With the settings on full-regen it really is almost a one pedal car to drive.
Space wise it is fine for me (5'9") front and back with a decent boot.
Definitely looking forward to getting mine next April!

Test drove one this afternoon - very, very impressed.
Was an SE running 20" wheels with standard suspension. Ride was good and everything seemed well screwed together. The way it picks up at higher speeds is just incredible - we drove there in an F-Type R AWD, and I am convinced the I-Pace is pretty much as quick where it counts (i.e from about 40 to 80).
Only downside was that the infotainment was typically JLR (laggy). However, this one must have had the latest OTA update, as it definitely had both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enabled (which negates most of the negatives with the native navigation).

Sorry didn't get on Friday afternoon.
The person asking about heating: It's not instant. Took about a minute to get to warm this morning.
I've had the range from full as high as 230 and as low as 135 miles.
Few more shots of the interior screens (in different formats):
I'm going to share it out within the business for the rest of its time here but let me know if anyone wants to know anything else as I'll still have access to it (and I'm into a KIA Stinger now!).
Oh, the spec of this one, it's an SE with a few cost extras:
Paint
Privacy Glass
Pan roof
Wheels
Cold Climate Pack
Ambient lighting Pack

Thanks for the info. Screens look better there.
Still, with that range, I think there are going to be some surprised long distance travellers in these when they roll into the only CCS charger at the services, to be faced with a 1h30 wait to do another 150-200 motorway miles (assuming Ecotricity pumps really do 43kw)
Hopefully in short order there’ll be chargers with higher power, wouldn’t bet on the ‘Electric Highway’ though !

I had a test drive in a SE model over the weekend. I have an S on order (fleetprices special) and wanted to see and drive one before fully committing to the order.
We owned a Leaf for two years a couple of years ago, so an element of experience with BEV.
The car is big (for us) both in width and length and neither my wife or I could see the front of the car. Our other car (and wifes daily) is a Qashqai. No front camera for us so we will have to rely on the parking sensors. However, we both managed to park without issue (or damage). Not sure whether my wife will be able to close the tail gate as she is short and its quite high when fully opened. I expect we will continue parking as far away from anybody else as we can at the supermarket to ensure we have space and dont return to dings/dents.
It's fast, both from the start and once moving. I'll miss the noise that some of my other cars made when accelerating like this which add to the sense of the occasion. The test drive was a mix of motorway, A roads and town driving. No B road blasts. Its easy to drive although i found the speedo to be annoying due to the bar moving around showing how energy was being used. I didn't play with the screens to see if this could be changed, but it kept catching my eye.
To me the regen is harsh and will take time to get used to. The rate it slows you down is quite something. Thankfully the brake lights are applied otherwise people too close to you when you lift off are going to be joining you in the vehicle. Hardly used the brake pedal.
I only cycled through the screens to see what was there. I noticed a bit of lag in response, but i can live with it. The car was well put together with no squeaks or rattles. Ride is fine for us and i was assured we were in a car with normal suspension and not the air suspension.
We liked the car, so much i have confirmed the order now and have to wait until April, though for us it will probably move to June as that's when my current car goes back. I cant wait.

AIUI you can select various artificial sounds so you can still get your noise fix.I'll miss the noise that some of my other cars made when accelerating like this which add to the sense of the occasion. The test drive was a mix of motorway,

The regen is also adjustable, and I think you get used to what setting you are on very quickly, i have a Soul which has high or low and flit between and switch over "mentally"from one mode to the other without issue.
our demo has had a few minor issues. Always conscious of sharing them on here (when we had engine faults on two Alfa QFs and shared it on the Alfa sub they practically hounded me out!!) as I know a lot of people on this sub will have ordered so will caveat with, it's a brand new car, teething issues are to be expected but it's good to have stuff to look out for when yours arrive and they aren't that serious but the three minor things we've come across are:
Front boot sometimes doesn't register as closed when it is. This means that you can't lock the car. Eventually figured out it prefers soft closing (gently lower the bonnet and then press down on it).
It 'lost' the key twice. When sat in the car just after unlocking and getting in we've had a key fob not recognised message and then the alarm comes on.
Last one is when changing the regenerative breaking setting from high to low it's initiated a brake failure warning light. Turned it off and back on and it disappeared.
