Services have been fairly constant in my 225xe. Its called for a service every 22000 miles.

I've had 22k, 44k, 66k and the next one is showing due at 88000 miles. Its either 2 years or when it hits the required mileage.
I would guess that the car was registered for a few months before the leasing company passed it onto me.

So those of us who took the total motion lease - what’s next? I’m thinking of extending for 6 months but the recent all electric leaf deals look tempting. I would imagine it’s a much poorer cabin? Bit been in one tbh.

I’ve just confirmed an order for the Kia XCeed deal on a 1+23. The leaf does look good value but I’ve decided on cheap motoring for a couple of years

This morning, I charged my vehicle. And then when checking progress on the app, it stated “charging paused ”

Everything was connected properly. After googling it, I unlocked car and then relocked, and then the charging started again as per normal.

What’s this all about?

I nearly went for a new shape Leaf - my other car is an F25 X3. I'd say unless your a total snob the Leaf isn't a million miles apart from the 2 Series. You can be ultra picking and go 'god look at those heated seat switches' but in honesty I liked it.

Ive actually signed for one of the n-connecta Leafs. So jumping from the 225xe to a Leaf I’d imagine is somewhat of a come down in the interior but I love the shape more and the range on the battery. Plus the features are better. The 225xe certainly has converted me to battery power.

Anyone consider moving from the 225xe to an i3?

No smaller and I need the capacity to do long trips. Having said that they are a fantastic drive, and as a second car makes a lot of sense.
Now 225xe to i4 in 3 years time?

Mine is due to go back in May, but think I may extend it for four months, avoiding the first service. I'll have to pay excess mileage on top of the £249 I'm paying now, but it will still be sub £300 a month. I had a Mercedes B250e with a 32 kWh battery. I believe the Leaf 40 has 38 kWh available which just isn't enough for me. I was happy after a test drive of the Leaf 62 e+ Tekna. Best lease deals I can see on that are £368 on 5,000 miles 1+23 and £401 on 10,000 miles 1+35. My hope is during the next four months a £300 10,000 deal pops up on the longer range Leaf as more EVs come to market. I'll stay in the cheaper BMW 225XE until then.

We have a problem with TM. Letter arrived late last year with 4 options. Spoke with them to extend for 6 months. TM/Pink now deny this and state extension now not possible.

Anyone else?

We dithered and ignored the letter last year, meaning that we've just had another letter through saying we are to return in June.

Probably the outcome we'd have chosen on balance. It's been a great London car, but I think something a bit more utilitarian (to accompany a move to the countryside) will be the order of the day next.

I suspect that if you never received anything in writing, then you're on a bit of a sticky wicket there.

I dithered on my letter as well!

I actually wanted to extend, as the car has been perfect for my needs, but Pink salesperson clearly wasn’t interested.

When pressed, she came up with a figure of £420p/m (currently paying £240).

I strongly suspect the figure was plucked from thin air, but apparently it’s to do with residual values.

No idea why they would have changed so much in 2 months. But hey ho, back to the ‘best lease deals’ thread I go!

Obviously avoiding Pink cowboys...

Sounds like you got a very good deal, and they were looking to recoup some margin via your extension.

Not sure that makes them "cowboys". That's just business. I've found Pink to be professional and efficient, and I'd use them again.

But in December they offered a rolling monthly contract of £240?

Like I said, £420 p/m was plucked from thin air when pressed for a figure

I got my 530e from them, when I got my letter I originally said I wanted to hand it back but asked if I could change that last week only to be told the same as you, that they've changed their policy.

If you really want to keep it, it might be worth contacting close brothers (assuming they financed it), perhaps pink have changed their policy because they don't make anything from extensions.

I still don't think that makes them "cowboys". They are in this to make money, after all.

They made an offer, that you chose not to accept. You later made a request, and they came back with a figure.

What am I missing?

Having same issue all of a sudden.

Got the options, which included extension at same price. I replied last year that I wanted to take up this offer.

Got another email on Tuesday. Wrote back "Yes, I want to extend".

Now told - extensions are not allowed?

WTF!

Has anyone tried to request an extension from the finance co rather than the lease co?

A random question - has anyone driven the Mini Countryman S E, which is basically the same car underneath?

I have a thing for Minis, and it's creeping onto the list for the 225's replacement.
Yes .. I really liked it ... but

I bought the diesel version instead smile

To qualify that ..

It’s an excellent car .. the electric range wasn’t suitable for us and the cost of it was pretty astronomical for what it is

As a package though the Countryman is excellent, it drives really well, is well built and like a tardis

Ours has the electric tailgate .. led lights .. sliding rear seat and chilli/excitement packs ( whatever that is)

I’d recommend the Countryman as a car and maybe as a hybrid depending on how you plan on using it
Hybrid definitely works for me, for a number of reasons.

Think I'll go try one out!
We’ve got a Countryman S E on a 48 hour test drive from mini at the moment, I’m not impressed with the electric only range at all, only 15 miles, won’t even get me to work. Going to run it in hybrid mode today and see what the MPG is like. As a car it’s ok but I can’t justify the uplift in purchase cost over a petrol or diesel?
