Anyone with the pink / total motion deal had their return inspection yet?

Was wondering how reasonable their damage charges were compared to Volkswagon finance (VWFS) on return?

Before I returned my previous lease to VWFS I got details through for all their damage charges (which I thought were reasonable) - not had anything through from pink / total motion, hence the question.

A random question - has anyone driven the Mini Countryman S E, which is basically the same car underneath?

I have a thing for Minis, and it's creeping onto the list for the 225's replacement.
Yes .. I really liked it ... but

I bought the diesel version instead smile

To qualify that ..

It’s an excellent car .. the electric range wasn’t suitable for us and the cost of it was pretty astronomical for what it is

As a package though the Countryman is excellent, it drives really well, is well built and like a tardis

Ours has the electric tailgate .. led lights .. sliding rear seat and chilli/excitement packs ( whatever that is)

I’d recommend the Countryman as a car and maybe as a hybrid depending on how you plan on using it
Hybrid definitely works for me, for a number of reasons.

Think I'll go try one out!
We’ve got a Countryman S E on a 48 hour test drive from mini at the moment, I’m not impressed with the electric only range at all, only 15 miles, won’t even get me to work. Going to run it in hybrid mode today and see what the MPG is like. As a car it’s ok but I can’t justify the uplift in purchase cost over a petrol or diesel?
That range issue is odd. Isn't it mechanically identical to the 225xe?

Yes, I thought it was. Tried it in hybrid mode and it was a bit better, 50mpg over 50 miles but a diesel would achieve better economy. I charged it up over night on economy 7 so the cost per mile was 3p but until the battery range is greatly improved it’s not for me.

Was going to extend 225XE with Pink, but after policy changed on extensions it's going back in May. After much searching have plumped for a Peugeot e2008 GT. £100 more a month, but full electric. Had a Mercedes B250e before.

Unless there has been a software update, there's no logical reason why it should be significantly lower than your 225xe.

Morning - has anybody had an inspection for their 225? Any ideas of repair costs? Thanks

Scuffed wheels 250 a pop. I'd had her indiscretions removed by a paintless dent repair mob. Silly costs for missing parcle shelf and charging cable, but they will be reunited before it goes back.

We did extend for six - wish I knew then what I know nowrolleyes

We have a small blemish on the bumper, but otherwise it's as it was when it was delivered.

I probably wouldn't have had it done anyway, but the situation being what it is now has forced my hand. Let's see what they say.

£250 a wheel! I suspect we’ll be liable for 2, possibly 3 on inspection. Previous cars have been around £40 an alloy (ford and Hyundai).

Ours is being collected on the 20th of May (m-sport with 18 diamond cut) and was due to have an inspection around now. However as that's no longer happening, I called today and spoke to someone in the end of contract team at Total motion and asked what price I should expect to be charged for any wheels which need refurbishing as 2 of ours will need doing. He said to expect a price of £109.25 each and I asked them to send that over in an email which he was more than happy to do.

£109 is still a lot, but obviously much better than the £250 that was suggested in an earlier post.

Did you get email confirmation from TM / Pink?

Thanks

Maybe £250 each is for new wheels.

sorry, to clarify, he was happy to send it, but did you receive it? Any other costs they gave indication of?
If they can send cost of wheels then they should be transparent and send full schedule of charges

We have a problem with TM. Letter arrived late last year with 4 options. Spoke with them to extend for 6 months. TM/Pink now deny this and state extension now not possible.

Anyone else?
I emailed when i got the original letter last autumn, non committal but said I would let them know in Feb.They said that's fine
When they contacted me in Feb and i said i wish to continue contract on monthly basis, they said they don't offer it anymore. I kicked a bit of a fuss and and said I could've searched for another vehicle. She then responded that they would honour the previous discussion and let me continue.

No my contract expires 13th May and I've not heard anything since our email exchange in Feb but I've just emailed them now asking to confirm the position, including monthly amount, mileage allowance and minimum term/notice

Let's see what happens

We're due a collection in May/June, and haven't heard anything from them either.

Suspect it will probably go ahead as planned, and we are looking at replacements from that PoV.

Got an email response. I am thinking, should I just send it back and get a £500 banger, with MOT, to tide me over for 3-6 months.

Thank you for your email.

We currently have your contract as going in to a month by month extension. You will receive an extension agreement to sign before your current contract expires.
The monthly rental will remain the same and the mileage will be pro rata'd to 666 a month.

If we require the vehicle back, we will give you approximately 2 weeks notice. This is the same for if you wanted to return the vehicle.

Many thanks

Have you signed anything? That seems awfully loose, from a legal perspective...

No, I'm still in my existing contract, which ends on 13th May. Nothing sent and nothing signed. Just exchange of email conversations.
I told them in Autumn then again in Feb that I want to carry on a monthly contract.

The bits in the email about mileage, monthly price and mileage were in response to questions i asked them in my email this week.
Is that what you meant by loose terms?

Bit gutted they haven't discounted the price. Was hoping to negotiate it (on the premise that they don't want it back but hearing from others it seems they're keen to get the cars back).

Got a service due in Sept 2020. Car was delivered to me in Nov 2018. I thought the service thing kicks in from PDI rather than when it leaves factory?

Servicing is dynamic, I believe. Based on mileage, usage style and time.

We're probably going to hand ours back without a service.
