Servicing is dynamic, I believe. Based on mileage, usage style and time.

We're probably going to hand ours back without a service.
Not, it's based on what you say, or 24 months. Whichever coems early.

My Service indicator right now states next Engine Oil change due in Sep 2020 or 11,000 miles.
I've done about 10,600 miles so far.

Anybody received a price to purchase? It’s the wife’s car and she likes it ! For the last 25 years plus she has had no interest in any car. I can’t see that buying it is the best thing to do, albeit it’s a £36k car for around 20k that’s 18 months old. However if I get something else, it will be too big, too fast, too wide, bad seats etc! I am only going to supply the options.

We bought ours
The wife doesn't want to change it
Stick the reg in Autotrader as a part ex to get a value
Then offer them the part ex value
It's more than they will get auctioning it

Mine is due to be returned end of May, and they are inspecting/collecting the same day.

So no time to fix any defects.... I used a mobile repairer to refurb my wheels (sport premium, so anthracite/diamond cut wheels)

I got quotes from a few places, most wouldn't touch diamond cut wheels at the moment - as they would have to be sent away, with no guarantee on when they could be returned!

Did manage to find someone who has done a great job, and only charged £60 per wheel.

No idea if I am allowed to post links, but I heartily recommend this guy if you live in the Aylesbury/High Wycombe area.

On a less positive note, I tried Chips Away to polish out a few scratches. Absolute tosh! Looked good at first, but they must have used some sort of filler - as soon as it rained it looked awful again.

So I attacked it with 2000 grit wet and dry, a DA polisher and Meguiars 105 compound. Perfect results!
Pretty scary for someone who has never touched a polisher before, but very satisfying smile

Sounds like you got a bargain sorting the wheels, especially if they do e a good job. Now you just gotta watch out for kerbing over next month.

We got a offer of around £19k to buy ours from TM. It’s a metallic silver sport 8k miles. Amazing depreciation in 18 months on a 34k retail car. However we still didn’t want it!

Just returned my car to total motion.

This is my 5th lease car and the first where I've had damage costs.

I had scuffed the two front alloys (low profile tyres take no prisoners) and in fairness it was outside of the guidelines for wear and tear. The rest of the car was pristine though.

Charges are a bit steep, they are charging £110+vat for each wheel, so around £260 Inc vat for two wheel scuffs.

Had I know it would be that steep I'd have got them done ahead of collection but never mind. You live and learn. Just won't use total motion again.

In my experience Audi (vwfs) and Citroen were much more generous with returns.

Got my rolling month agreement via email. Just need to print, sign and return.

Same monthly cost and pro-rata monthly mileage allowance.

Was reading through standard agreement and they expect all service, maintenance, repair to be carried out at franchised main dealer.

Anybody had quote for oil change service at BMW? Mine due in Sept, was hoping to get it don’t for about £35 at National Tyres & Autocare

Looking at ours a little more closely suggests we'll probably be in for 1 or 2 wheels and a small bumper blemish.

Relative to the cost of the lease it's not really a significant amount of money. Suspect we'll just wait, pay up, and move on.

I'd be surprised if you got any change out of £200 from BMW.

As for £35 for an oil change at national tyres... Is that a genuine offer?! Surely the oil costs more than that on its own let alone any other parts they have to change and their labour cost?

The lease company can't insist you use a main dealer as far as I know, but if you use an independent garage they must use genuine BMW parts (the exact oil, filters etc) and you'll need a receipt to prove this.

I imagine the best way to do that is find an independent BMW specialist but they'll probably want close to £200 too. I've serviced most of my leases at main dealers to avoid headaches but it's very painful, especially if you're about to return the car.

Waaaah?! it is just an oil & filter change right?

I used to get my old VW serviced there. It had the PD engine so required specific oil. I had it confirmed in writing that they only use the correct VW spec code, 501 or whatever it was at the time. The filters to OE spec.

Trouble, it’s in black and white in agreement that I have to use franchised dealer. My understanding when I first took out the deal was that these cars would go back to BMW for them to sell as approved used. Perhaps that’s why they want it to only have BMW Servicing

Interesting reading this thread. Mine was due back today, but have extended on month to month.

My rims (sport premium ) have the following issue. Is this accepted as reasonable wear or tear. Or will be charged upon return?

2 photos attached.

Ask them to send you a copy of BVRLA guidelines (I can’t seem to find it anywhere). They should provide you with the guide if that’s what they have agreed to in contract for measuring damage.

There will a total limit for each wheel, you just add up the amount of damage along the circumference. If it exceeds it then expect a charge.

The first one looks just like mine, so I guess you should expect a charge for that one.

The second photo (assuming it's a different wheel) might fit under wear and tear. I think the limit is only 50mm but hopefully they're a bit lenient.

Personally, had I known I was going to get charged £130 per wheel I'd have looked at local refurb options, especially as it was fairly light damage.

I really don't like low profile tyres which don't have any kind of "overhang" to protect from minor kerb damage. Never had an issue with my previous cars but this one was almost unavoidable.

Mine's gone back today. I didn't get the option to review the report before he left (social distancing, apparently) but the fella said the alloys looked like fair wear and tear despite some extensive (well over 5cm) scuffs.

I'm awaiting the damage report with interest, because he grounded the car on my low wall as he left my drive. Oops. Didn't stop so I didn't get the opportunity to talk to him about it! I emailed Total Motion/Pink as soon as he'd gone so I'll contest it if they try and pass it off on me.

Given they didn't ask for any signatures at all, potentially it would be possible to contest any and all damage seeing as I never agreed to the condition of the vehicle...

I've been to a few different places whose cost to refurb wheels range from £100-£110.

I'm wondering if I'm best to take my chances with the assessor. The wheels definitely have been scuffed, as I've said before, it has even happened when the car is self parking.

Definitely pay £440 or maybe pay £520.

Anybody had a call from TM/PL lately?
They called me today but I couldn’t take the call.
Will give them a ring tomorrow but was just wondering hat they may have called about.

Mine is currently on an informal extension. Presumably the6 want to see what car I’m after for a new agreement.

Our 225 is due for inspection & collection on Friday this week. 1 alloy definitely exceeds fair wear & tear and there’s a 2nd that’s borderline.

To avoid the excessive charges I’ve managed to Find a mobile alloy wheel repairer who Is charging £70 a wheel. Fingers crossed the refurb is up to standard

Anybody that has opted for an informal extension managed to renegotiate mileage?

It didn't occur to me at the time but because I'm under the 12k miles and I'm driving even less, I should've requested a quote for reduced miles. Even equivalent of 3,000 miles would've got me by.
