Is it? I personally thought Jaguar stretched the boundaries by calling it an SUV.
Yes, it has the batteries in the floorpan, so the overall roof height is a few cms higher than a regular hatchback. But it is only a few cms.
It's got an elevated ride height though to go with the SUV tag. The air suspension cars have park lowering (so they go to access height when parked) but driving normally will be at the same height that the coil sprung car is. Furthermore, not that anyone will use the ability, but it is pretty robust off road. It's been round the same testing circuits that the smaller Land Rovers use over near Ledbury so it's arguably more of an SUV than something like an X3. Especially on the 18s a they're an Mud and Snow tyre.Yes, it has the batteries in the floorpan, so the overall roof height is a few cms higher than a regular hatchback. But it is only a few cms.
EVezy have just announced that they will be getting the iPace soon for hire.
£799 a month for 1000 miles including a polar plus subscription, insurance, maintenance etc. On a rolling monthly hire with 10 day cancellation after the first month.
It's not as headline grabbing as the £400 lease but might be worth a look for that mileage per month.

Why would you even bother posting a st deal like that?£799 a month for 1000 miles including a polar plus subscription, insurance, maintenance etc. On a rolling monthly hire with 10 day cancellation after the first month.

Oh, hang on...........
From what I remember these deals were only 6000 miles per year?
How are most of you guys planning to use the car? Given how good to drive it is, sticking to just 6000 miles per year is surely pretty hard work!! Or are people planning to pay the excess miles charges??
Not at the end of March and our EV is now coming up to 3500 miles since 1st of Jan 2019, and we haven't even hit the family summer holiday road trips .

I which it was 6000, it is 5000 on mine.
I plan to use sensibly, but my mileage has changed over the years. Resulting in around 6.5k average per year.
Weekends away and holidays involve our Motorhome, so no mileage there.
For work I had a company car, which is being replaced with the I-PACE. The role I had has changed and driving for work has dropped off a cliff. Plus if I do travel it will be hire car / train and plane.
And yes, man maths have been used to allow for the excess mileage.

My view on the excess mileage charge is that whilst it sounds high, it isn't that much different to the cost of paying to fuel a similar performance petrol car.
So we have decided to use ours as much as we want. It will still be much cheaper overall than buying new with our own money and paying the depreciation.

Back in the UK so just tried the i-pace properly this morning.
Few initial observations. Firstly, the wheel arch gap doesn't look as bad as reality as it did in the photos. The car doesn't have the same visual presence as one with the larger alloys, but it still looks quite a chunky design.
The seats feel quite hard. A softer foam would be more comfortable to sit on.
The buttons for selecting drive, reverse etc are a bit more awkward to use compared to a lever type selector. I found I needed to look down to double check I had selected the correct gear - maybe will get used to this.
The speed up to 70 mph is actually very good. 0-60 mph runs are effortless and feel every bit as quick as the published figures suggested. As with nearly all electric cars, at higher speeds, you do feel the acceleration tailing off.
Lots of reviews were saying the screens were laggy. Only had a quick play around with them so far, but they seem fine so far.
