Looking for an independent opinion and a helpful steer if possible. I've been rather taken with the i-Pace and digging about have found what i think a reasonable BCH rate. I'm in Scotland so I believe we've a more expansive public charging network. I've been running the i-Pace app on my phone and, over the month of Feb it has produced the following stats:

Now, while i know the app is likely geared to sell me a car and being in February it most likely wont have taken account of cold weather, etc. But, given that most of my driving is a 70m round mostly motorway commute with the odd c.200m thrown in where I am fairly confident of being able to charge at my turnaround point, do any of the EV experts have a view?

I've asked the nice sales lady at the dealer and, of course, the answer is that all is fine and i have nothing to worry about. While all the EV experts in the pub (I know!) all think I'm crackers to even contemplate it. And fwiw, I currently run a 330d and the diesel cost stats produced by the app are just about bang on.

An experienced and impartial opinion would be very much appreciated....

Pretty sure it should do 200miles at 70 even in winter. If you can recharge then shouldn't be a problem.

Who cares.

Still don't think I've seen a charging point in use.

iPace isn't efficient at M way speeds but it's got a big battery. 200 miles should be fairly achievable providing you stick to the national speed limit. In worst winter weather your need to preheat the car and may need to slow down to 60-65mph for 200 miles range.

However for your 70 mile commute you can smash it as much as you want and your be fine.

By all accounts the iPace is the best car JLR make right now. Looking at Autotrader you can probably pick on up with a demo car with a K on the clock for a discount too.

If your in Scotland I think you can still get a £35k interest free EV loan, that will be enough to pay a decent amount of any iPace.....

And yet there are 4 charge points outside my office of 300 people and they are in use all day with at least one of the cars being swapped for another throughout the day.

If you use Facebook I would join the closed I Pace Owners & Enthusiasts Group. You will get plenty of real world owners feedback.

Is this what it’s come to? Having to be hopeful of completing a 110 mile trip?
Indeed, piss poor isn't it.
