Thanks. Where are you picking up from if you don't mind me asking? Manchester? I signed up on the 8th and I have to wait until this Monday until I can collect.

No interest in the Ioniq? I have a 60Ah REx i3 already and am considering the Ioniq deal for my wife when our ICE lease is up in September.

I know they are boring white goods cars but have more room than an i3 and according to Bjorn on Youtube seem to be the most efficient EV you can buy.

Don't think EvEzy are doing the Ioniq anymore

Out of curiosity what did you do to get the spec sheet for the i3 from Evezy? I asked and was simply told it would be a 2019 car with Comfort package, whereas on SpeakEV you posted a full options list so obviously spoke to the right person or said the right thing.

Beggars can't be choosers, but would be nice to know to tide me over until the pickup.
It was Patricia that sent it out for me too.

Mine has the same spec as above. As far as I can tell, they are standard 120Ah spec cars, with the optional 'driving assistant plus' added (a £790 option) (I'm guessing this was beneficial to Evezy from an insurance POV).

Oh, and also a nice, brand new, snazzy BMW type 2 cable provided (5m long, single phase - 7kW max) (£165 option)... (in addition to the standard 3 pin cable).

London, Vinyl Café. I spoke to Patricia on Monday morning and Friday was the first availability for the i3 120Ah. I asked about the Ioniq as well but there is a waiting list for them at the moment. My wife would have preferred that, but I prefer the i3, so a win for me smile

I think you'll like the i3... it has character, which I think is probably hard to come by in an EV. I'm looking forward to every journey right now - even commuting across London. I'd say that one pedal driving is worth the i3 over the Ioniq, especially if you commute on congested roads.

The spec seems to differ slightly, as far as the i3 is concerned. One guy on the SpeakEV forum got the standard wheels, for example. The turbines are a cost option (which I prefer, but beggars / choosers, etc).

I have to say that my experience of Evezy thus far seems to differ from most people. I'm due to pick mine up on bank holiday Monday - which at the moment fills me with anxiety in case I can't actually reach anyone if I have a problem. The address they've given me for pickup is non-specific and basically covers a road that is quite long.

Additionally when I first signed up my original booking email told me the car would be available for pickup from Manchester instead of Bristol (South West) which I requested, and my latest reply today - after I asked them to confirm that everything was in place for Monday - told me that "I just checked and your Renault Zoe is confirmed to be picked up".. frown

At this point in time I do not have confidence that I'm going to turn up on Monday and a) be able to find the cars at all because of the generic location, b) find the right car that I signed up for, c) find any car at all because its in Manchester instead of Bristol.

Not confidence inspiring at all, and is starting to take the shine off already.

Technical staff are available on the phone 24/7, so I wouldn't worry about bank holiday hours, I called late on Sunday and the phone was answered quickly. I was trying to organise my first booking but its only technical staff outside of normal office hours. I would give them a call now and make sure everything is okay with your chosen car and location.

As far as finding the exact pick up location, I would hope a white i3 parked along that road shouldn't be too hard to find.

London isn't the closest to home for me, but the easiest to take public transport to for collection. I'll have a 2.5hr 125 mile drive home, hopefully everything goes well. I shouldn't have to charge but I might do anyway just to get my first rapid charge done without wife and sprog in tow! Really looking forward to driving the i3, I've had numerous BMWs over the years so I hope it lives up to expectations smile

I'm sure you'll love it. Reviews have been positive, with the price being the only issue some have taken. I think you'll have to stop off once to charge though, so worth checking our your route on Zap-Map or similar website to get an idea of where you could stop off for some food etc.

You probably will need to stop for a 20 min charge or so unless you drive v. slowly - mine was on about 75% charge when I picked it up. If you check Zap Map and/or Plugshare you can plan it before hand. If you can aim for a Polar charger it will be free with the card in the car. I'd probably try to avoid Ecotricity on this 1st trip because they can be unreliable.

Aim for a rapid charger from Polar or Instavolt if possible.

Have a play with https://abetterrouteplanner.com/

Can also have go with https://www.ecalc.ch/evcalc.php to see what average speed is likely to be most efficient time wise. (With 150mph rapid charging it tends to say it'll be quicker and less dull to drive at normal speeds and stop for quick top ups - assuming the chargepoint is close to the route, and you don't have to wait to get on the charger...)

The 429 turbines are the standard wheel on 120Ah model. There's another type of turbine (428) that are a £125 option.

The ugly wheels that used to be standard on the i3 before the 120Ah model came out are a no-cost option.

Almost a week into using the i3. App has been faultless (iPhone), and the car is great. whole package is a great solution without long term commitment. 13A charging slow, found an advertised 7KW charger (pod point) but in reality it runs at 3KW so not filling up while shopping, just need to get into the mentality of seeing a charger and topping up . But let's not forget it's free. At this rate ~I'll get a month of a brand new car with no fuel costs, run into central London for no extra cost for £350. Very hard to argue against it (so far - will change my tune if it gets a scratch in a car park). Highly worth giving it a go. ooh, and if you do...code is ed5dc

If you are only going to be doing 1k miles a month surely a slow charge overnight is going to be ok?

Our issue is that the car has seriously exceeded expectations. It's a genuinely brilliant piece of kit.

I may well end up with two, but I'm tempted by am electric smart car.

The slow charger does the job pretty well I think, it'd only be an issue if you get back home from a long drive with barely any charge remaining and then unexpectedly need to go on another longish drive. But even then it depends where you live and how far away the nearest rapid charger is. There's a couple of rapids 5 mins away from my home (one Polar - so free), so if I arrive home with say 10% left, I could just scoot over there and be back up to 90% in about 40 mins I reckon.

For anyone who is soon to be collecting an Evezy car and is at all concerned by the reports of the app not being that solid on Android, I just got an email saying an update should be in the app stores (iPhone too) in the next 24-48 hours.

Have you got the car set to charge at the higher rate? There are three levels, I don't know what the car comes set to by default but it might be worth checking.

Thanks.

It's the 428s that I saw on an Evezy i3 up in Lichfield a couple of weeks ago. Pretty sure it was the 12Ah because it was a 19 plate, and white etc.
