Yes - they have rear sensors.

As I understand it, they are standard spec cars, but with the 'Driving Assistant Plus' option added also.

Driving Assistant Plus Comprises:
– Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go – City Collision Mitigation
– Forward Collision Warning
– Preventive Pedestrian Protection
– Speed Limit Display
– Traffic Jam Assist

Full spec list is here:

Thanks smile

For me at least, my insurance premium last year was £650 and I didn’t end up needing it. If I had, the excess was still £200. So, I'd rather have no premium and a £1000 excess, which if the worst happens I can probably get back via excess cover for about £50 a year.

Insurance does cover commuting - that was one of my first questions to them.

I’d get that in writing as the T&C’s says SDP only

On the forms you sign it doesn't say that.

Is says:

"To be eligible for our service the Driver must not:
i. Have been refused motor vehicle insurance or continuance thereof
ii. Use the vehicle for any commercial gain, business or occupation outside of use for social, domestic or pleasure"
Etc
Etc

Thanks. It'd be interesting to know if they can modify the insurance provided to you. Some policies provide Class 1 for free anyway.

I'm trying to get further clarification on whether commuting is Included. I've been told via email it is - but the agreement implies it isn't...

No chance. It's a fleet policy so will be costed at a fixed spec. I think it's pretty much impossible for them to make any exceptions for anyone.

Let us know how you get on. Just looked at the fleet policy docs and there's no mention of commuting. That's a deal breaker for me as commuting us exactly the usage I require.

Hmm, I've also been told via email I can take a car to France, but the agreement says:

"Driving a Evezy vehicle in countries other than the United Kingdom is prohibited"

So, maybe this is where it all starts to fall apart...!

I've looked into the company and I think I'll be able to get the details of the policy cover early next week.

My educated guess is that the policy will cover all classes of use and that the agreement that they are using is bit of a cut and paste from a commercial deal they do with some hasty alterations.

I'll post when I know more.

I'd keep the email and then you'll be fine.

I’m not sure I’d be relying on that. An email won’t be binding on the Insurer.

No, I agree. An email won't trump a legal document. Will do some research on this before I pull the trigger I think.

I agree too - I won't rely on that. It could just be a customer service agent saying what they reckon is the correct answer. I'll see if they can provide meaningful assurance next week. I'll still go ahead with it for a month either way as I'm keen to try living with an EV over an extended period. If I can't commute in it for a few weeks it won't be the end of the world as the train is no real hardship, plus it's only 3 days a week.

I'd be fairly amazed if they actually intend the insurance not to cover commuting - that would be epically stupid for an EV subscription.

The legal document is different than the web terms and conditions.

Also if the owner of a vehicle says you can do X, they will have a difficulty trying to avoid liability. As will there insurer.

I'm confused as to what you mean. I've got the legal document, the thing you digitally sign, and there is no reference to commuting in it. The word "commuting" does not exist in the document.

They have just issued me with 2 certificates of insurance. One covers business use and one covers SD&P. The cover is with a strongly rated insurer.

Did you have to ask for those as I have not seen any certificates?
