Having just seen a photo of the Evezy dashcam , not having that monstrosity on the windscreen is worth a few quid a month ??
Link to pic?
I'll post one tomorrow if squirdan can't.

It's at the top of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror. Can't really see it from the driver's seat, but you can from the passenger. It looks like it's a least one generation behind the times.

It's not an "active" cam, so doesn't transmit in real time.
From a poster over on SPEAKEV who got his car in the last couple of days.

My SR+ got delivered this evening. Done 100 miles in it this evening, rather impressed considering this is entry level spec...

Why does it have an extra webcam?

Just received an email regarding my mileage overage for last month and notice what seems like a significant change. They have always made a point that exceeding 1250 miles is a problem and could lead to account suspension. The latest email states the same for exceeding 1000 miles.

"As you are aware, you exceeded your monthly mileage allowance and incurred additional charges during your subscription period.

This email is to confirm that we have successfully debited your bank account for the mileage charges of £5.55 inc. VAT and this matter is now resolved.

Please note, if you consistently exceed your monthly mileage allowance (1000 miles) your Evezy account will be at risk of suspension."

I've only had 1 month in 5 that we didn't go over the 1000 mile limit..

I'm touch and go each month. Haven't gone over 1000 miles yet but could easily do, mainly due to the unreliability of public chargers around me. That's definitely something to be aware of though frown

Is that definitely a change in wording in the emails compared to previous ones you've received?

Yes, just checked the previous emails and none of them mentioned anything other than the usual 8p per mile for 250 and anything more than that is not allowed, will cost 30p per mile and could lead to suspension.

Website FAQ still reads

"You get 1,000 miles per month included with subscription. This is a monthly charge and you will be notified a week before the payment will be debited from your account. Any overage up to 1,250 miles will be charged at 8p per mile, and anything above 1,250 will be charged at 30p per mile. All drivers are asked not to exceed 1,250 miles per month as this could lead to your subscription being suspended. When you return your vehicle, we will calculate the average and refund any extra charge."

I signed up a couple of weeks ago and got on the list for a few cars (not Teslas) but, I've not had any emails yet.

Is that normal? Cars become available in batches and then everyone on the waiting list gets an email?

Thats a bummer, EVEZY is no good for me then, I do 1300-1400 pretty consistently without trying. An EV would save me a lot of money in fuel, but sadly they seem too expensive to lease if you actually do miles! THough there do seem to be decent deals on the eGolf ( i guess getting ready for ID3).

I've just had mine and it's the same as previous month's. I've only been under 1000 miles once but I've only gone over 250 extra once as well.
Wording:

We wanted to send you a quick email to bring your attention to your recent mileage. As you know we include 1,000 miles in your monthly subscription with 250 miles overage charged at 8p per mile. Anything over that is not allowed and will be charged at 30p per mile.

My first email confirming when they were going to take the payment read the same as yours above. it was the email I received today after payment had been made that was worded differently.

I imagine it's just a wording cock up as the FAQ on the website hasn't changed.

I had a payment issue as I updated my payment card on my wife's account rather than on mine (which is the main one)

The person who sent me the email was also the one who answered the phone and I got the impression it wasn't an entirely automated email, although I suppose it's possible that they don't want people regularly going over 1k.

Latest Tesla Thursday Update for anyone who's missed it or interested.

Here is your weekly Tesla update!

Vehicle Deliveries

One more week - one step closer! For those of you waiting for your Model 3, we will be in touch soon.

We have also ordered even more Model 3's and expect them to be delivered in November, December and January. We have been reaching out to people in the waiting list and will continue to do so for the next few days.

Evezy App

The few issues we experienced with the Evezy App and the Model 3 have now been resolved and your App should be working normally - please get in touch if you have any questions.

Losing charge when your Model 3 is idle?

A few of you have inquired about your Model 3 losing percentage battery when not in use.

Here is the deal: It is normal for Tesla's to lose about 1-2% in charge level every 24 hours. If sentry mode is on, you can expect to lose around 1 mile per hour.

However, you may realise you are losing about 6% charge every 24 hours even if sentry mode is off. This is due to the way our system communicates - it keeps polling the car to keep it awake, to ensure the connection is always active and you are able to lock/unlock without any delays.

We are currently working on building an option that will allow you to turn off this "always on" feature, allowing your Model 3 to go to sleep. Remember that if you decide you want to turn it off, your Model 3 can take up to 20 seconds to wake up and connect. As soon as this option is available, we will let you know.

Finally, if you are worried about your car completely discharging - don't be. Regardless of the setting you choose, your Model 3 will go into battery saving mode automatically at 15% to avoid draining the battery.

So it is loosing something like 1kWh/day? Is this the vehicle electronics standby consumption?

There has been legislation to cut standby consumption in domestic appliances to <1W. Maybe should apply to EVs to.

Rechargeable battery rather than mains powered though. Always going to be some losses I would assume?

All very new, they're essentially using the first batch of drivers as the beta testers for it and developing as they go which is understandable I suppose. Much like Tesla themselves do. smile

Nice thing with the Model 3 is you get the keycard anyway so the app will be redundant most of the time.
