Nice thing with the Model 3 is you get the keycard anyway so the app will be redundant most of the time.
Does the M3 also have the ODB device?

Another Evezy winner! 6pc loss every 24hrs because their app keeps communicating with the car?! #annoying
Yes I raised this with them a week or so ago, ironically they've used some of the wording I sent them in their weekly Tesla Thursday email. Option to disable the constant polling of the car coming very soon.

I've been losing around 15/18 miles (6-7%) per 24 hours while I'm away. It's far from ideal.

No, all communications done via Tesla API over the internet rather than bluetooth hence providing the keycard as if you've got no phone signal you wouldn't be able to get in the car + it's still needed to start the vehicle.

Almost as bad as leaving sentry mode on constantly.

Thanks.

As a supplementary question (!) If you have a "normal" Tesla is a key card a "back up" to the Tesla app?

It would seem so yes, although it appears plenty of drivers use the keycard anyway.

The proper app allows for automatic door unlocking and keyless starting which at the moment the EVEZY app doesn't so the keycard would be a backup as you say.

To clarify does the normal app need wifi or data to open the doors or is that bluetooth/nfc as well?

The official Tesla App uses bluetooth for proximity unlocking and startup I believe. The issue for EVEZY is because there is no OBD port in the Model 3 they have no way of attaching their hardware like in the i3 etc. for bluetooth so have to do everything over the internet hence the lack of functionality.

That's my understanding anyway, someone else may come along and correct me. smile

Tesla app uses Bluetooth assuming your phone is correctly paired.

I don’t like the auto locking function especially as my phone might not be v far away from the car in the house, so simply use the app to lock
It. Whereas to unlock you just walk up with your phone in your pocket.

Brilliant concept in my opinion.
Inability to use for business miles renders it infeasible for me, I'm afraid.

I can understand why they don't want people using them as taxis etc, and that it's a matter for underwriters rather than EVEZY. But it's a ballache for those of us who need a (few) business miles.

Is that so?
I thought the small print excluded it... I'll check again.
Thank you.

Having looked again:

EVEZY said:
To be eligible for our service the Driver must not... Use the vehicle for any commercial gain, business or occupation outside of travel to and from a place of permanent employment, occassional other journeys to employment meetings that are not intended for direct personal gain or use for social, domestic or pleasure.
Since I have four offices to visit, occasional regional travel and see clients at home, that's me stuffed.

I think you are covered.

If it's for pre booked business meetings and to different offices of you employer then it's covered under the terms of their insurance. I have a copy of the insurance certificate.

Edited to add.

The fact they you are limited to 1k a month mileage indicates that any business driving you do is "occasional" - of you were driving for a living you would do a lot more miles than that.

That's very interesting.
My meetings at clients' homes and at other offices are (rarely) booked on the day, and my business mileage is probably less than 2-3k pa.
I don't carry passengers for work etc.
Thank you, desolate. That might be a real game-changer.

Anyone know if they have any locations in Scotland, I am struggling to view the scrolling map on the evezy site. I have emailed them but so far haven't even had an acknowledgement.

Not at the moment no. The most northern location is currently Manchester I believe?

Anyone waiting on a Model 3 Performance like me might find this interesting.

https://tesla-info.com/detail.php?ref=90225b3199ed...

Only added today so would assume they've met all of the cars for EVEZY if this one is in the for sale inventory?

There will be a few cancelled orders etc, that's a P- so no one can order it now so won't match to any unfulfilled orders
