Care to elaborate on what nonsense you believe is being spouted and to educate us poor souls with your superior knowledge of everything EV related?
Why don't you go do some research of your own instead of expecting us to answer your questions which have been asked and answered on this forum numerous times.Have you heard of google? Do you think you could spend maybe an hour or so on it understanding EVs and their related subjects?
Cheers.
Also, seriously, this sub-forum needs a stickied FAQ to stop these thread derails every month.

It's as if this thread has gone back to 2014! Same old nonsense being spouted but by new posters. Bizarre.
Care to elaborate on what nonsense you believe is being spouted and to educate us poor souls with your superior knowledge of everything EV related? He is happy to snipe, but if you read his posts, very little is insightful, which is rather ironic considering.

I took your advice and did some research. JJ’s opinion on the future of EV’s from 3rd March - so inaccurate - most of the Tesla 3’s he so interested in are being spec’d in the £50k-£70k range. Bring on the sub-£20k EV JJ Have you heard of google? Do you think you could spend maybe an hour or so on it understanding EVs and their related subjects?

Tesla kind of have the right idea, the current tech has been proven to work and the worries about batteries not lasting long has been shown to be false.
So we just need to get the price down, and looking at the Model3 and their recent price reductions it seems they have managed to do so.
Chances are solid state might appear in things like phones first but be very expensive, then the process slowly starts again to get the costs down, but we definitely should not wait for it, lithium ion is great for now and gets better every year.
We're going to see cars with 400-600 miles ranges next year probably close to £30k while the 200-300 ranges cars will drop closer to £20k.
Then you might see solid state in hyper cars.
Really exciting times, can't wait for the city centre to be free of diesel fumes!

I know but he was suggesting that the likes of the T3 and iPace with 200-300 miles would drop to £20k when in fact even the T3 that was advertised at £35k and is nearer the price of an iPace when spec’d. Plus there are reports of the T3 having in even worse build issues than it’s predecessors. RobDickinson said:

Yes, and how much has come from animal farming rather than vehicles? How is NZ performing on that front? https://twitter.com/neilrkaye/status/1129347990777...

Plus there are reports of the T3 having in even worse build issues than it’s predecessors. There are 3 models of M3, the cheapest being approx £40k with a similar range to the iPace and no additional spec needed.
To get near the cost of a basic iPace you'd be looking at the M3 Performance model with considerably more range and performance than the iPace.

Honestly I am out , you are just a troll so fk it.
Apologies Rob. I should have put a smilie on the end of my comment. It was not intended as a dig at you. We are discussing EV’s and the only reason they exist is due to environmental issues and whether we like it or not, animal farming has a bigger environmental impact than vehicles. Edited to say, I’m going to duck out for a while because my contribution is unfortunately winding a few people up and detracting from the serious issues raised in this thread. It does seem to be the case on PH now-a-days, and I have been here a long time, that you can’t post an opinion without also posting a series of independently reviewed research papers to justify it, and if you ask a genuine question people tell you to sod off and Google it.

Skepticism is healthy, especially where the internet is concerned, and where the same FUD and fake news/statistics keep circulating.Phil. said:

Yeah, that's just rude, and happens a lot around here. 7 years ago or so, I was pretty active on PH. Now I just lurked and occasionally jump into EV debates. Unfortunately, they seem to be the ones that get most heated, and demand the most rigorous evidence.Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
