Audi dealer told me today they’re bringing back the 55 300kw model for the new model year.
True, although for the extra 40 miles range, and one second off the 0-100km/h, it's hardly worth an extra £11,000.

Agreed, I’d not pay that in cash/ but then I’d not buy one in cash.

Hoping we see some decent finance offers on them- the ones on the 50 seem really poor at the moment.

Actually seen on another forum that the lead time for these is now 6 months or more- I think this rules me out to be honest.

For anyone interested, the 55 version MY will be open for orders from late July onwards- at least that’s what Audi told be this morning.

Hi,

just took delivery on a new e-Tron 55 Launch Edition in Manhattan Grey, Lovely car, knew what I was getting into with range / performance compared to the rest of the market and comfort and quality were higher priorities for me.

Has anyone else (on here) taken advantage of the complementary PodPoint 7kw charger? Interested in roughly how long from ordered to install.

Thanks
Rod

I have a 55 with virtual mirrors so should be comparable to yours.

I get an indicated range of about 180 miles on a 90% charge based on average of maybe 2.1-2.3 miles per kWh on short trips, but when I've done longer runs at 2.6-2.9 I've had that go up to 220-230. The longest trip I've done on A roads at a good pace with a few overtakes was 160 miles after which I had 32% and about 60 miles remaining from 100% charge.

I applied for the Pod Point retrospectively as I wasn't informed of it when I placed the order (lease) but I've since been told this has been referred to Pod point. I haven't heard anything after a few weeks. I've been charging the car on a 3-pin outside socket for the last 1100 or so miles and it's been fine for keeping it topped. If you need to deplete the battery on two or more consecutive days then this obviously isn't viable, but I still have an M5 for long journeys.

Great car - enjoying it much more than I expected to.

I’m sorry but if you are on about Harry M he is anything but a Luddite, he was thinking about and built a ‘eco’ house with ground heat pumps, etc etc back in 2008 well before it became fashionable.

Audi cover the difference between the OLEV grant and the cost of a basic 7kW tethered charger. If you want untethered or a longer cable, you have to pay the extra yourself. If you have the car already, it'll make the application process a lot easier. Just talk to your dealer and give them permission to send your details over to PodPoint. You get a link to the PodPoint website with a credit already applied to your basket. PodPoint will then contact you to submit the paperwork and evidence for the OLEV grant and arrange installation. Shouldn't take much more than about 4 weeks.

Cheers Boss, great input.

PodPoint have now been in touch and I have completed a plethora of forms to allow them to claim for the OLEV grant. Next steps is for the installation team to call and book an appointment. They ask you to help complete a remote survey first (with supporting photos) so they know what to expect when they arrive.

Seems that Audi will pay the balance (about £570) after the OLEV deduction for a 7kw charger.

[EDIT] Witchfinder and my post crossed. Yup, that's exactly my experience although the credit hadn't been applied to my PodPoint account so they deducted from my credit card which they are now going to refund.

Nice one, glad you got sorted. Mein auto ist noch in Deutschland. It's been sitting in a compound or dockyard for about five weeks now. I can live with my Volvo for now but I'm looking forward to getting "my" car.

If you guys are in new builds they should be slightly better on efficiency due to the improvements.

I took a deal on an in-stock car so it’s MY2019 and early at that - who only knows why it was sat unregistered for so long. Besides having the tail led strip replaced and AC recharged it’s fine.

Ok just looking at quotes and about to start the online configurator as I have a test drive now available.

Any extras that are a must?

I am being drawn to the city and tour packs? Anyone have these? Any comments?

Comfort and Sound is pretty popular. If you do a lot of motorway miles, maybe the sound insulating glass. Apparently the virtual mirrors take a lot of getting used to, and based on the Facebook group, they are unreliable.

Hi all

Our e-tron arrived last week and so far so good. It’s a base spec 50 model that we couldn’t add any extras too as it was through my wife’s NHS car scheme.

We would like to add the Matrix lights as I’ve read in numerous places these can be activated after purchase. For the life of me I can’t find anywhere to purchase them as an add on.

Has anyone done this themselves, or are the over air updates etc still to be rolled out?

Cracking car so far and getting around 185 miles per charge.

Function on demand isn't enabled yet, should be added to the app later this year.

Seriously considering an E-Tron on the company salary sacrifice scheme. Got a quote for a 50 S-line and added paint(Navarra Blue) , B&O and roof rails (not sure why these aren't included!)

This would be my first EV so a bit of a leap of faith. My commute is a 24 mile round trip so nothing to worry about with a very occasional 200 mile trip up the M1, this could be more interesting smile

Looks like a good way to reduce tax liability and drive a decent car, I currently lease a Golf R estate which is due back soon so it would be a bit different.

Unfortunately, the scheme provider can't provide test drives at the moment due to Covid so would probably have to order one without testing it.

I see on the Audi Configurator there's the option for a free Pod Point 7kw charger but its missing of the scheme providers configurator, need to follow this up as it would be essential.

Apparently the free charger is only available to retail customers? Not sure why as i ordered thru a lease agent (not NHS) and he said he couldnt order it either. Will try and blag one via dealer when i get mine delivered (bought a ex mgmt vx220 and told no free palmersport experience so called up gave them a VIN and booked!) I do similar mileage to you and i charged my leaf for 4 years on a 3 pin plug so will continue running a 3 pin plug otherwise. 3 pin plug can deliver approx 3kwh so about 7.5miles per hour recharging overnight (at 2.5miles/kw)

The T&C says fleet as well as retail customers.

Given that the lease broker I used sourced from a dealer I chased this up retrospectively and am just in the process of getting it ordered/arranged.
