Ordered one of these back in mid June with a suggested delivery of end of September to mid October. No news yet.

Awaiting a 330e M Sport in Portimao Blue. Black leather interior with grey stitching. I really wanted the blue stitching, but was not prepared to pay an additional £500.00.

Extras - Tinted windows, extended storage, lumbar support.

Looks like I can offload my ES to a new recruit now that PHEVs have hit our car list... holding for now, as I'm waiting for the first 330e deliveries to happen so I can have a proper drive of one.

But the spanner in the works is the new Passat GTE has landed - we can get a GTE Advance saloon or GTE Estate. I'd like an estate... but the GTE Advance comes with a huge amount of extra kit compared with the 330e.

Portimao due mid October here (we had Estoril previous so we don't mind being a part of the sea of Blue BMW's lol)

M Sport Plus Pack
Comfort Pack
Tech Pack
Park Assist Pack
Vernasca Lthr Black with Blue stitching
Sensatec Panel
Extended Storage
BMW Drive Recorder (from memory I had to spec this to get the Park Assist iirc)

£46k RRP

Looking forward to it as we had a 330i on demo for a few days to get an idea of what to expect - it's going to be a step down in performance from the 330d we have now, 116k having never let us down

Picked up my Portimao blue this week. The colour is excellent, better than I thought when I saw one at the dealer. One more for the sea of blue smile

First impression of the car is very good, need a bit more time though. Light years ahead of the F30, thankfully.

Looking forward to seeing the colour in different natural lights, agreed about the move forward from F30 (based on our demo days).

Enjoy!

I ordered a 330e on 31 May (M Sport, Portimao blue with plenty of toys....), as soon as my local dealer could place factory orders, but before it was available on the BMW online configurator.

Production date of 2 September and delivery scheduled for 23 September. Car left the factory on 3 September, but only arrived at the dealer today, 1 October. Held by BMW UK at entry for an 'upgrade' but the dealer can't enlighten me on what that 'upgrade' was........

Looking forward to picking it up on 3 October. :-)

We had 3 phonecalls from Lex to state items which we'd specced (on their portal) had no charge and therefore it was a lower price - I've no idea if the blame lies with their portal being crap or if BMW changed some packs/spec to include the items?

Be interested if you do find out though

I have a '66 plate 330e msport up for renewal end of year. borrowed a new shape one in late sept for multi day demo thinking it must be the right answer forward.

Must say I was left disappointed, though it was a nicer place to sit I felt it has gone some what button mad to differentiate from the model 3 tesla. the bmw is an improvement in the electric only & hybrid eco pro modes over the old version but I found the older one much better in petrol and importantly sport+ modes. the extra weight in the new one felt significant to me, as did the lack of connection. Xtraboost somewhat a toy, just leave it live all the time ffs. yes its fast on full chat, but sounds anaemic and doesn't feel anywhre as much fun as the old one.

I am pretty much the target fit for the hybrid (company car), low mileage each week, can charge at home + at work for free with a 14mile commute I can manage on all elec Monday to Friday in the old car. I've recently found that in commuting I resent the ICE starting up and so probably have reached the time to so full BEV.

I must say that the forward 0% BIK rate is attractive and so somewhat reluctantly will be going for the tesla m3 SR+, I have 20+ supercharges < 15 miles from home. its reluctant as I never want the base model but its the only one on the company list.

Could anyone give me a real world mpg on the 2019 model.

Trying to weigh up wether to go full EV or get a 330e for a company car.

heppy,

no one can answer that it depends entirely on your usage scenario.

eg my 330e has averaged 57mpg since new, ive done 1/3 elec miles and 2/3miles on petrol. when i focus on elec only and charge at each ends i get as high as 67. long motorway blats with loaded car and passenger more like mid 30’s. flat out sustained hooligan mode 20’s possible.

hope that helps.

That’s great, sounds similar to my driving. Appreciate the reply.

Does anyone else think the 330e's brakes aren't the best?

I've always thought that but once every so often when braking the car slows down and then jolts forward a bit without adjusting my foot on the brake pedal i.e. it is still applied.

Anyone else had that?

the transition from regenerative breaking to disks braking can catch you out. particularly if you've calibrated your responses to sport mode then drive in eco pro. never noticed any lurching though.

There's definitely a transition between regen and mechanical braking but it's not terrible.

I've done 42k in my 67 plate 330e and I'm averaging 41mpg

I charge every night but travel up and down the country (in field sales) but tend to not charge unless free when staying away.

On the ICE alone its about 27mpg

Not great but the BIK saving are worth it

Interesting point re the electric only & hybrid eco pro improvements against the sport mode. But if you resent the ice kicking in, a bev is a no brainer.

Still early days but 1200 miles in now after an initial spell on electric only. A few longer trips on a mix of A roads, motorway and city traffic were enlightening. Comfortable in all modes, it drives great and handles really well, particularly if you crank it up. Sport mode is way better than the old model imo and adaptive does what it says and is well worth it. The cabin and tech are a massive upgrade and the sports seats are also better making it a very enjoyable place to be and drive.

My mate has a model 3 coming so it will be interesting to really compare all aspects of the cars first hand. Whilst I was a bit pissed off at not getting to test drive the model 3 as an option on our list, I don't see any problems having the G20 for 2 or 3 years. It will cost me a bit regarding bik obviously but as a cc with private fuel, my total motoring costs are still very, very cheap. A 5 minute pay at the pump stop for fuel, given the nearest Tesla supercharger is 100+ miles from me and there is only one 50kw charger in our area, is not much of a hassle. I haven't checked the mpg yet because it doesn't matter for me.

Everything works, no faults found yet and it more or less suits my needs. And the paintwork is stunning. The one thing I do miss is the high beam assist. You only get it if you spec the Laser light package @ £1500 but the adaptive led's are great so no way I was adding it to get the high beam assist. And it came with Turanzas, I would have preferred the quieter Eagle F1s.

But at the end of the day, everybody has a different opinion and needs but any car just gets you from A to B I suppose.

How are you finding the M Sport brakes? I have these on the 330d - wondering if the size is the same or larger just to factor the extra weights involved on the e?
Thought it was meant to come on PS4s tyres? Or am I going off the 330i images I've seen?

I’ve currently got a 66 plate 330e. Originally it was company lease, which I then bought off the lease company at a good deal.

At 3 years old I’m now thinking should I get rid?

Personal lease on new 330e appear ridiculously expensive compared to what the old 330e was.

Also I probably need to test drive one given the comments above about the new one actually not being as nice to drive as the old!

Anyone seen any decent personal lease deals?

Good question re the brakes. When I went to m sport brakes on the 328i it had much more bite (and dust lol) than than previous standard ones as had the F30 330e after that. I assumed the G20 would be on a par but so far I am not convinced it has the same bite, although I have not done any hard braking nor paid too much attention yet in the short time with the car tbf.

The tyres will be different due to the m sport plus upgrade to 19s and run flats. But I am one of the rare breed that does not see the marmite run flats as a major negative. They are way better nowadays and even allowing for a puncture being a very rare occurrence, mobility kits are crap. Each to their own.
