Not sure if they are still doing it but mine (November 20) came with a free 1 year BP Pulse subscription and £450 of free credit.
OK, that may help - we are putting in a load of 7kwh chargers at work - and I mean loads - like 15-20 at several of our car parks from the drawings I've seen. We are using BP to do it, they look like the Waitrose ones, pretty simple posts. And I'm told all we will need to do is subscribe to BP at £7.99 a month and after that the electricity will be free, at least for now. RFID Card and you have to register as they are commercial non-public ones.

Fingers crossed mine comes with it.

Sounds really good, it was second on my list. I wanted to go for the colour that shows the least dirt (company car, illegal to wash them).

I've ordered Magnesium, hope its nothing like it looks on the configurator either! Hoping its a funny flat white with that changes a bit as you walk around it. If anyone has had an M2 Comp, a bit like Hockenheim Silver. ie. not a traditional metallic silver (which I hate).
Have Magnesium that goes from this

To this quite quickly

Hi! Not been on Pistonheads forums for a while.

I sold my M4 during the first lockdown and got a Polestar 2 late last year. Pretty happy with it - fast and decent range.

Also reassuring, everyone who actually owns one seems to be really pleased with both performance and range - and after an M4 that's good. Be really interested if you can share your experiences / contrasts between the two.

I looked at an M4 (and M2 Comp) before committing financial suicide and getting a 992. Performance wise, ie. sheer thrust and 7/10 on corners, they not dissimilar on the public road.

Be really interested on your view on what I've got to look forward to with the Polestar, albeit the 992 is staying for now at least. Might go Exige 390 or used McL 600LT if the Polestar kind of fills the 992 everyday semi-supercar role and I can go more extreme with the toy.

I can’t compare it to an M4 or a 992 but I do think you will like the ‘performance’ I’ve found it quite different to a fast ICE car, the lack of noise actually makes it a bit of s strange sensation.

It’s not as in your face as a Tesla, the throttle is very linear so it doesn’t feel like an on/off switch if that makes sense.

Ive had to put the speed limit warning on though as its very easy to speed.

I have been surprised by the performance, it gives you a slight jolt when you accelerate hard but does not feel that fast as there is not much noise or the feeling of the power band / gear change (EV owners might understand what I mean). I had a Tesla 3P for a while and that felt quick but in reality was not any quicker than the Polestar.

I have had a spirited drive with a friend in a new 340i a few weeks back on a mix of NSL roads and they are closely matched.

Safe to say it is quicker in the real world than my 488 despite the lack of speed sensation as you can just go like a hot hatch that’s always in the right gear.

The new configurator is now live and they is a choice of 3 models:

Standard Range - Single Motor £39,900
Long Range - Single Motor £42,900
Long Range - Duel Motor - £45,900

The Pilot & Plus Packs are now £3k and £4k respectively on top so the launch model that used to be £47,900 I have has effectively gone up to £53,800 due to a price increase and the removal of the grant.

Main improvement appears to be that a heat pump is now included which should help efficiency in cold weather. The app is also due to be out very soon (at last!)

I did notice that it was a fairly significant price jump. Fully specced, with performance pack it's coming in at the same price as the Kia EV6 GT. Think I prefer the Kia.

Still very much an unknown quantity though both from a price and performance perspective.

As per my comments on the article in GG i am surprised by just how much Polestar have wound back the performance on the Standard/Long range FWD models despite the price difference being so small to the AWD. You'd think the additional motor, much improved performance and larger battery would be worth more than £6k? Standard spec on all models is also rather sparse now so much has been relegated to option packs.

If you pay £4k for the plus pack it is.

Or this which will be interesting in vRS guise if it happens, but the single motor RWD sportline one is pretty good looking and well specced, and they are talking about an 80x dual motor 265bhp version too

I don't think the Enyaq vRS will be as quick as the Polestar or Kia, but it will undoubtedly be larger.

Hi. Sorry for the slow reply!

Compared to the M4 (I had the comp pack), it’s probably nearly as fast point to point but not as fun/dramatic while doing it, due to the AWD and no noise.

Tbh, the main reason I switched was cost (no BIK as a company car!), plus my M4 had just gone out of warranty.

If money were no object I think I’d prefer a 992. But a Taycan 4S company car looks like a more sensible choice if you want (tax) efficient performance.

I can agree with the above, in terms of straight line speed I was behind a new shape M340i joining the autobahn and it kept up fine until the speed limiter kicked in...

Done 5k miles now and still no issues at all to report, the latest software that enables the phone app is yet to have downloaded in my car however.

Polestar have a test drive centre near me (MK) so booked in for a drive next week, not driven a full EV since Tesla which also have a test drive centre in MK.

I did the MK test drive thing. Totally missed the sign and was late.

My only reason not to get one at the moment is that they don't offer a PCP, only a lease (PCH) or cash purchase. I want to be able to buy the car at the end of the lease if I can as I may under do the mileage and therefore pick up a small bargain. They don't seem to want to offer one later either. Strange.

I expect they're worried about residuals as there's no precedent on the residual value.

Based on the high PCH costs they could just do similar and crank up the PCP costs and put all of the residual risk on you? Seems to be what Tesla/Porsche are doing, their GFV values look ridiculously low.

PCH 3 year 30k cost is £25k for the LR AWD P2 so agree leasing looks very expensive at almost 60%. They're getting away with it due to the savings on BIK company car drivers are getting IMHO, nothing to do with concerns over residuals. And for christ sake don't add any options or nearer 70%..

So I'm assuming that company car sales are propping up the EV market at the minute?

I'm not sure for the UK, but for the EU that's generally the case...

Most definitely in the UK also. The difference in BIK tax to a 40% payer is huge so EV is a no brainer if offered.

Here's the difference. The venerable 320d MSport Auto on the left, and the AWD LR P2 on the right. £350 per month v £17.50 a month for a car costing £11k more. Then add the fuel cost saving for 10k+ miles a year, £500 a month difference easily achievable.
