I've done the test drive at MK and Daventry, the Daventry one we didn't have to sit through the presentation. 5 minute chat, set the car up and then following a lead car who was a lot more enthusiastic than the lead car at MK!
Me and the lead car were off yesterday I wasn't expecting him to push as hard as he did so I followed, the poor bloke at back was well gone.

50% seems about average across all EV's so imagine they didn't want to tell him he'll be lucky to go 100 miles before needing to charge.
Do Tesla only to 200 miles on a charge? Best get a Polestar, they are closer 300.

Not sure why you've brought Tesla into the conversation as thought that was banned in here, but as the AWD P2 is the only model I've seen independent range numbers for, 200 seemed about right?

The T***a did a bit better, just in case you were wondering. And that's the P, not the more efficient LR.

The car wow review was without the latest software update which unlocked some extra capacity and helped efficiency which is probably worth another 20 miles from experience.

Having driven both for a few months I find it about 20% less efficient in terms of kwh per 100 miles so 220 miles vs say 270 ish.

No doubt Tesla are good in terms of doing the claimed range I am led to believe the Kia and Huyundai are good as well.

A real world 200+ miles is plenty for me however I have had my P2 3 months and done just over 6k and have used a public charger 4 times so far...

I'm sure all of that is true. But the point related to the range towing a caravan, and in that situation I think 100 miles is probably about right.

You wouldn't be able to tow a decent sized one anyway I think the towing weight is 1500kg and on the Model 3 its only 900kg.

I would say maybe 120-140 miles if towing realistically given you would be sat at a lower speed but charging would be a utter pain in the arse regardless. It would be interesting to test it and see to be honest range wise...

Yeah, you could be right. TBH I hate caravans so I probably shouldn't have commented biggrin

£20k would buy a lot of UK holidays in properly nice hotels. With dinner.

Nice one, I think you’ll really like it, mine impresses me everyday

Only niggle ive got is I want to install the latest OTA software (because theyve fixed the iphone 12 wireless charging issue) but read a few too many horror stories of it bricking the car...

I accepted my OTA update at the weekend, all working fine including the phone-as-a-key, remote climate, etc. Just ensure your in-car account has its Polestar ID logged in before setting up the phone. I'd still take a key if going anywhere far, it's more of a gimmick really.
I didn't know they were releasing the iphone 12 wireless charging fix (solving Apple's problem for them!) so I'll give that a go too.

Range is better now too, although I expect that's partly down to warm temperatures finally arriving.

ETA: I can confirm wireless charging now works for iphone 12 thumbup

Everything but the Ohlins / Performance pack. Magnesium + Black. Wanted the blue interior but would have missed the deal on the grant and added 3 months to the wait. As it’s effectively nil cost with BiK etc it could be pink and lime green for all I care!

Quite looking forward to ditching the 169k mile Audi shed into WBAC this weekend!

Mine was called into the dealer for the update as it’s an early car and Polestar were concerned it might have failed.

All went to plan and updated.

Arrived this morning, bang on time, nice new BiK dodger.

First impressions, its a really really handsome car, good lines, none of the current BM / Merc / Audi aggressive grills and chintzy tat. Colour - meh - chose it as I reckon its about as close to road grime as you can get, so minimises cleaning. Interior - really nice, £50k nice, not sure, seats are comfy, stereo is great. Not sure about the green tag on the number plate either with a Union Jack on it! Remainers are going to hate me, I certainly didn't spec it, just came like that!!!!!

Got a relaxed 198 mile commute tomorrow into the office, so overriden the 80% recommended charge limit, cranked it to the max and we'll see if it will do it in one hit.

Only done 15 miles and I can confirm it goes like a rocket off the lights - but - whilst extremely responsive, I'm glad to report the 992 has a lot more drama and is faster. And that is only 2wd. Phew!

Its gonna be a workhorse, with 20-25k miles a year minimum, for 3 years, charged to 100% every other night. Lets see how we get on.

No. Wrong wheels, no gold brakes, no gold seatbelts.
