Love that service cost! VW are trying to charge £300+ yearly for ID servicing.
Wow!

Wife's Zoe was only £99inc VAT for 1 year / 18k mile service, back in October '21, so similar to the PS2. Nothing more than a quick check and a valet. I've just overtaken her so to speak, she's on 18-19k now but her car is 9 months older (private 3+35 lease, not company car).

Saves us over £100 a month on her old ICE (Fiat 500x Diesel), like for like costs taking fuel into account. Probably more now the way things are going. Zoe was about £100 a month more to lease than a similarity ICE, but we save a good £200 in diesel. Great car for the M5 / M42 / Birmingham commute.

Her front tyres are also still pretty much new. Not even had to top up the washer bottle on that yet. Doubt we'll have to change the tyres before it goes back. Bonus.

Trying??
My sister ordered an ID and got NO LESS than 3 subsequent phone calls from the salesperson about the yearly servicing pack.
To the point she called me at leas a couple of times to verify if she really shouldn't go for it.
She queried him on two separate occasions what this would be for and he couldn't provide a straight answer.

I think they see the writing on the wall with their servicing costs disappearing.

Further update: 1st Service completed today. Was at nearly 20k miles so had overshot by 2k miles nearly. Work and life got in the way, a bit like cleaning it....

18k first service - £75+vat. Obviously, its a company car, so the lease company picked up the extensive bill. What did they do? Inspection, changed cabin filters and cleaned the bit of windscreen normal people cannot get to where the front cameras and sensors are located by the rear view mirror. No brake fluid change - 2 years / 36k apparently.

Tyres confirmed at 5.9mm all round on 20k miles, that's impressive. Disks are at 10mm with some light scoring. Pads are as new. Understandable, the regen braking is strong, real brakes very seldom used.

1hr then another 1hr to clean it so @SWoll will be happy laugh

Took the 'wrong key' so they couldn't update the software but its at 1.8 anyway, 1.9 has just come out and the over-the-air ones seem to come through just fine so not really fussed.

Standard rural Volvo (Listers) dealership, out in the sticks (Hereford way), squeezed me in with 24hrs notice as I'm all over at the moment. Coffee was nice, people were very pleasant, waiting area was a bit Kwik-Fit but I got some work done. Sent me a video of the underside of a car.

Totally uneventful trip.

I suppose a wash every 20k miles is better than nothing. smile

Another myth….. the car is so heavy, tyre wear will be excessive…..

19,750 miles now, all four look like this, 5-6mm still. And for the most part, unless cruising on the M5, I drive it like I stole it.

Never got more than about 22-23k out of a set on driven wheels ever, looking like I might squeeze 35-40k out of all four of these.

Whilst I understand the physics of why this is so, don’t ask me the make of tyres as I really don’t know and I really don’t care(!). Tyre branding and tread patterns do nothing for me.

Mine is on 18.5k miles and the fronts are down to about 3mm and need to changed soon as just had it serviced as well!

I don't do much motorway driving however its all cross country miles and I do drive the car quite hard.

Must be motorway, mine is 80% if not more M5 / A30. Ticked over 20k this morning, another 5 day, 500 mile round trip to the office via West Cornwall, via the office again on Monday then home. Less than 10% on single carriageway at a guess.

That's harsh, it was cleaned last August and mid-January this year! Gets hoovered most months to be fair, I have to sit in it (not on it) laugh

My E-Tron lease is due to end in July, and I ended up settling on the Polestar 2 as the replacement. Just as I was about to order, I noticed they have sneakily cut about a grand's worth of kit (pixel lights and fog lights) from the Pilot pack - although it only shows that on the configurator, the main webpage still says it has these features. No reduction in price though. Very sneaky indeed.

https://eletric-vehicles.com/2022/02/21/exclusive-...

After my initial annoyance subsided, I reasoned that the Polestar is still a lot cheaper than everything else on similar PCP deal (like by £150/mo). I decided I don't need the Pilot Pack. I actually know how to drive and park a car, so all that assistance stuff is just fluff. Light animations? Big whoop. Matrix lights? I had a free trial of them on my E-Tron, and I think they activated exactly once in a whole month; the rest of the time the street lighting meant they stayed on dipped beam.

So I've ordered a black (Void) long range dual motor Polestar 2 with 19" wheels (best for the ride I reckon), and the Plus Pack which actually has nice/useful stuff in it like the panoramic roof, Weavetech seats, heat pump, heated rear seats, wireless phone charger, and Harman Kardon sound system. The money I save I can splash on that 50kW performance boost 😁

And it turns out that the P2 is about half the cost to insure as the E-Tron

Supposedly they’re reconfiguring the Pilot pack, calling it the Pilot-Lite pack. Existing orders that can’t be fulfilled with the full pack will get a refund of €1000, and the price will be reduced for new orders. There are a few posts on polestar-forum.com from Polestar themselves confirming this.

That doesn't line up with what the chat agent on the Polestar website, or what the people in the Manchester Polestar Space said either. That must have changed within the last 8 hours or so.

My PS2 is due any day now and I can't remember being this excited about a car. I was forced to think about a new car once I realised my M135i was too small since the missus had a baby, this will be my first EV and I'm really looking forward to getting into it.

I've gone for the dual motor, pro pack, 20" wheels and standard black paint. Modifications already booked in include shortened (legal) front plate, power upgrade, tints, lowered 35mm, 15mm spacers, full paint correction, ceramic coat and having the centre console wrapped in a black wood effect vinyl smile

Pretty extensive list of mods considering I haven't even seen one up close hehe

I'd probably drive it for a while before going for the ride drop and spacers personally. A good chance they'll also play havoc with the range if that matters to you?

Have you got a handover date yet? Mine is supposed to be “Early March”, and I was advised to pay for it (which I did), but I’ve still not got a date.

Good choice on the 19s they get you better range, a better ride and the 0-60 when tested is slightly quicker as well from what I have seen...

I have seen some on the standard upgrade 20s and actually prefer the standard wheel design wise as well.

The 20's on the performance pack do look nice however!

I am about to order the performance boost as my fleet team have approved it.

The best thing in the pilot pack was the lights which really are fantastic so you made the right decision imo.

No, funnily enough I paid for it yesterday after being chased by polestar so was expecting something today, but nothing.

It's strange because they say to pay the balance 7 days before the delivery date but don't reveal the delivery date until you've paid. I'm not going to be happy if its 3-4 weeks away, on the app it says February delivery but on the website it says 2 weeks (2 weeks would be 3rd March). The forums and FB group is full of people getting twitchy feet so I don't understand why the process is not more precise. I can't remember being this unsure when I received my factory order BMW last year.

Has your car had a registration number assigned in the portal?

Mine still has a 71-plate registration attached to it. I’m told that will change obviously.

Phone call to CS yesterday and they said I should get a handover date within a week. Clearly lots of people defer delivery to March, so they’re busy.

Can you explain how they revealed the delivery dates? And how many days you had to wait from that point? Nothing seems to have happened for days with my order. I'm getting really frustrated as there's still no clear date and it's due any day apparently.

I need to get rid of my current car banghead

I called CS yesterday morning to do some digging and was told that the car was at the dealer, but that we were likely looking at mid to late March now, rather than early March, so I was a bit disappointed. Fast forward to 3.30pm and an email dropped in to say handover dates had been shared in the portal, and I chose next Monday afternoon. So not much notice, and like you, I need to offload the wife’s BMW X3.
