Same here (service week ago). I was surprised on the zero cost thing, because mine is a lease and they asked if i wanted to pay the maintenance upgrade and i said no. But I didnt realise that the car came with 3yrs servicing included anyway, so the lease maintenance plan would have been a sheer waste of money.

I asked about it because it was included in the initial proposal from the leasing firm we are using, but I'd noticed the same on the Polestar site about 3 year servicing included as standard. The maintenance option covers consumables such as brake discs/pads and tyres apparently, they did mention stuff like spark plugs etc. but obviously they don't apply here!

We declined it on the basis that it felt unlikely we'd be getting through a full set of brake bits or tyres in the three years of the lease

Exactly - the problem with brakes on EVs is that they corrode and warp - they rarely wear out at the rate to be expected on ICE cars.

I was a bit surprised with tyres - loads of tread on them and it is unlikely I will need to replace them before it goes back in 2024. Not bad for such a heavy / powerful car.

The only thing cost wise to be careful on is Polestar seem pretty strict with dealers on the mileage shown. If it isn't under then they don't get paid. This meant for me having to clear the service warning message for a month before it could go in.

Corrode and warp? That’s two pretty extreme ends of use the brakes must see…

So today was the day. Polestar 2, Dual Motor, Long Range, Midnight.

Only had a quick drive but absolutely love it already!

Very nice Ben,

I am just looking at exactly the same so keen to hear your thoughts. I need a replacement daily driver before my current one goes back at the beginning of September so thinking that I need to start making a commitment!

Thank you

MY 2024 facelift model has just been announced. Some not small changes been made.

Most models have power, battery and range increases but big news is the Single motor versions get RWD instead of FWD !

Yep got the email. I prefer my existing SMSR FWD car actually.
  • Colour coded front Front grill not to my taste
  • FWD to RWD hardly makes a 2 ton car "sporty"
  • Digital key and foot/boot sensor were free, now only in the £4k Plus pack.
  • Battery remains 69kWh for the base model
So a MY24 car matching my spec is 1.2 sec faster to 60 granted, but a £7k increase.

I agree re that front grill - it's a step in the wrong direction

Does my effing head in when manufacturers make simple options only available in expensive bundles.

SKY TV have a similar knack of splitting all the good channels and popping a few in every package so you have to subscribe to EVERYTHING to get the channels you actually want.

That was one of the really refreshing things about the ordering experience, the configurator was a doddle to use and you got the spec you wanted right away, no fighting through packs and options etc.

Glad we ordered ours when we did now - currently both the cars we have are RWD which has been a pain when the weather has been at it's most wintery. Not struck on the new "grille" either.

Just had a look.....oooh, tempted. Looks like significant hardware changes with battery and motor upgrades having been made too.

Looks very nice - like the new grill, bigger battery etc and silver is now the standard.

With the two core packs (pretty much essential) it has increased near enough £10K from the launch edition.

Makes me wonder what the P4 will end up costing.

Tesla dropping the price, Polestar increasing the price. A brave move.

tesla inflated their prices a while ago whilst demand was high (iirc the m3p went up £10k over the last few years) and are now just bringing them back inline

Thanks!

Very impressed so far. Only about 220 miles in but loving it. Acceleration is addictive - have to warn passengers before you put your foot down. It's a very comfortable place to be, love the driving position and how "in" the car you feel, lovely interior feel too. Lots of room in the back too. Encourages you to drive smoothly which makes for a relaxing drive.

Not managed to have B-road blast yet, hopefully soon. Only issue is how dirty it is already - I guess that's the issue of getting a car in January!!

I've had an email suggesting a handover date of 10 Feb!

They must have sourced more 19" wheels.

I'm busy on 10th so, like a fool I pushed it back a week to when I knew I was free, forgetting that I was actually on holiday for most of the week as it's half term and I could have asked for the handover on the 13th silly.

I've put a deposit down on a home charger too.

These cars are reminding me of my much missed 406 coupe. Not the looks so much but the way that owners love them but non owners have a bit of a meh attitude to them.
