What test is that? If it doesn't do 180 miles on the motorway i'm going to cancel my lease order!

I'm guessing you will see his usual set of videos within a few days of each other. 95/120kph range, bananabox, noise, 1000km/geilo charging etc

It's undoubtedly smaller than the I-Pace inside, although when I looked at the I-Pace, I thought the rear seat access was a bit tight. The P2 has a smaller, shallower boot, but not by very much.

The Nextmove guy is suggesting 270km range on the motorway in summer, and it looks like it charges very slowly.

130 KM trip, average speed 117 kmph, 48% battery used.

So that's an 81 mile trip at 72 mph average for those of use in the UK. Weather conditions 18-20 degrees C.

ETA - Just as a point of reference I did a 75 mile trip yesterday morning at a very similar average speed/external temperature and used 30% of the battery in our M3P.

First UK reviews now appearing.

Jonny Smith Polestar 2 review

I think it looks like a jacked up last Saab 9-5 from the side. Interior looks very appealing.

Are those yellow seatbelts mandatory? Or can you choose black instead?

Seems stupid to not offer black.

Yellow is a bit boyracer in an otherwise standard interior.

Part of the £5k performance pack, you also get Brembo brakes, 20" wheels and expensive Ohlins suspension. And they're 'gold' BTW.

There’s been 3 or 4 new reviews out stating that it’s be the choice over Tesla’s current products. Range of circa 230miles on a longer drive.

All really positive!

I've seen too many "Tesla killer" or "Iphone killer" reviews to believe they make any difference.

I like watching car reviews as they often tell you a lot of stuff you need to know, but some of their remarks and verdicts seem so detached from reality that taking their final opinion as anything but a passing note is very hard.

I remember seeing one of the more recent TG presenters, who's reviews I usually like, state in a recent review: you want to be able to watch Netflix on your display as you're going to spend a lot of time waiting at charging stations.
Similar remarks as "setting up the seats and mirrors is a real hassle" or "The door grips are easy if you're used to those on an Aston Martin". All genuine bullet points that show a general absence of reality, where you only ever set up your seat once, you probably will spend nearly no time at a supercharger and most people haven't operated the doors on an Aston.

I do believe that from what I've seen that it's a genuine Model 3/Y competitor.

Well, out of the National companies, only a couple responded to my enquiry.

Smart Homecharge. They were good in terms of communication and their online survey system worked OK. They quoted me £550 odd, with a 2-4 week lead time.

In the end I used Romatech, who’s HO is fairly local to me. They were about £30 cheaper but could fit this week, ordered last Thursday. They cover the country with a network of smaller installers, which I get feeling is pretty common to the ‘National’ suppliers.

I tried a few local suppliers but only one initially responded quickly and then they stopped responding too!

By the way, I went for an Ohme charger and they recommended both of the suppliers above and were themselves good to deal with.

Really annoys me as well the "xxx killer" reviews.

no. There is room for both to exist quite happily in the market!!! a Samsung S20 is not an iPhone killer because some people will just never want an iPhone. The P2 is not a model 3 killer because some people will just never want a Volvo! and besides, neither car exactly has crushing market share numbers! the world is still entirely dominated with ICE sales whilst EV sales are still early stages. This means plenty of room for more EVs from anyone who wants to make one without them having to take one another's lunch.

An unknown online company will only get so far in their initial launch period.

It's when they stick a Volco badge on it that Tesla will need to really worry.
