It seems Honda dealers are also typical of the breed....

I phoned about this car - not my perfect colour, but circa £1k off the list-price with 150 miles sounded potentially interesting and would be available now. I assumed it would be a demonstrator (which indeed it is).

Spoke with the sales guy - whilst the car is listed for sale, it isn't actually available for another 10 weeks. And in that time one of the salespeople is using the car as their daily commute - and so by the time it will actually be available, the car will have around 5,000 miles.

"But the advert says 150 miles", I said.
"Yes, it did have that when we listed it", he replied.
"But the car isn't actually available, and won't be for 2.5 months, and you know the mileage will then be around 5,000 miles."
"Yes, but at least least I'm being honest with you."

So strike that one from the list....

That's ridiculous. Might fool someone I guess.

How many watts does the 240V socket deliver? In some other cars it’s quite low - 200W ish. So you’re limited to things like laptops and some game consoles. No toasted sandwich makers!
1500W
That's pretty good. The Pure Sine Wave inverter in my van is rated at 2000w and is a fairly chunky bit of kit that let's you know it's there when it's running.

Its a Lookers franchise, so a big company. I would complain.

As probably low level idiots taking the piss.

Well...came back to the thread as I was interested to know if anyone else had one yet...

Looks like ours is (finally) getting delivered in the next few days. Apparently it needed to stay with Honda UK down south for a couple of days to have a software update applied.

It's a ridiculous thing to spend money on really...but fk it.

Then 3 pin plug is just TOO tempting!

This.

But then when approaching traffic lights on the inside lane of a dual carriageway you'll find yourself hoping that they'll turn red, just so you can put it into Sport Mode and annoy the BMW driver who pulls ups next to you in lane 2. Childish I know, but somehow deeply satisfying.

Used to enjoy doing it in our i3 'noddy car'. The 0-30 in an EV often takes ICE drivers by surprise. smile

Deals are starting to become available on the e so might be a good time to grab a bargain, word is that there may be a price increase coming.

Any deals which are particularly noteworthy?

Brand new in stock cars are already on Autotrader £1k below list.

They must be struggling to shift them on already, I really can't see a price increase doing it any favours.

You can get a similar ICE car like an Aygo for half of that brand new. That is an issue.

An Aygo is in no way similar though, it's a considerably smaller car that is a lot slower and less well equipped.

I think a better ICE comparison would be the Yaris as a very similar size. Standard Honda E is £26,500 on the road, Yaris Launch Edition (mild hybrid) is £24k and still less well equipped and quite a bit slower.

Lol. You can get a 10 year old Ford Ka for £1k too.

I'd suggest you'd be mad to pay £25k for a Yaris too given they're also normally runabouts little used.

Maybe I'm wrong and the Honda-e will be a best seller but the signs aren't good when they're discounted already.

Small cars are normally 2nd cars little used, only the wealthy would spunk getting on for £30k on one.

Ah the old 2nd hand vs new argument rofl I know what you're getting at. I'm also just pointing out small city cars priced at £30k is nuts battery powered or not. I hope Honda have a lot of profit margin so they can slash the prices to shift them.

I think even those who really like the Honda-e (like me) would accept paying £30k isn't great value for money. But it doesn't really compare with an Aygo, which is a cheap and cheerful car, great for parking at the station or letting your kids drive.

Fair enough, it’s just an opinion of mine that’s all.

I hope you enjoy your roller skate when it arrives. What colour did you go for?

Same for me.

I should be squarely in their target audience. Love the Honda ethos as a company. Have owned until recently a Mk 1 Insight.

Granted it would have to be extra special new to tempt me. I just hope they don't sell so few that the residuals remain high enough not to make it a bargain in a few years.

My other half ordered one at the weekend. It fits her 99% journeys which are <10 miles each way. She likes the looks both inside and out, and while priced quite high, she thinks it's worth it.

The Corsa Electric is an almost £30k car FFS. Now there's an EV you'd have to be out of your mind to buy despite better range than the Honda.
